the best tattoo in Washington, DC?

I am looking to get a new tattoo (I have the design all made), but I don't know where to go for it. The last tattoo I got was done in Rochester, NY and that doesn't really help.

Before I got it done I talked to a few people to find out where they went. I told that different tattoos turn out differently depending on where you get them (duh) but it also depends on your skin color (?). Some places can do tattoos for black people better than other places. . . .

I am not sure if this is 100% true (this will only be my second tattoo) but I want to take as much into account as I can. I designed this tattoo myself and I want it to come out as great at it can.

So, have you gotten any tattoos in Washington, DC? Where did you get your tattoo done at? How do you feel about the work that was done? Would you send me there?

We'll, there's the classic, the S symbol, and if you're more down to earth, a stylized bat. If I were getting a DC tattoo, I'd probably go for a Flash or Captain Marvel lightning bolt, or possibly a Green Lantern symbol, which is simple and iconic.

I think the OP is referring to DC as a place ie: Washington DC

As for me, don't live in DC, so I don't know.

On the other hand, Marvel doesn't have nearly as many memorable icons to be used. There really isn't one for Spider-Man and the Avengers one would be too easily mistaken for Anarchy. Well, unless you get one for the Lesbian Avengers, but they're not really affiliated with Marvel. Or The Avengers TV show, which rocks, but wouldn't work as a tattoo. A bowler and a cane, though, that wouldn't be bad at all, and it's removable. Except, maybe a bowler wouldn't look all that great in the 2000's, and it was really more Patrick McNee who made Steed cool, not the clothes and accessories. Did you know that Patrick MacNee was considered for the role of James Bond before Connery was cast? That certainly would have been a different take on the character, a bit more suave and a bit less athletic, kinda like Roger Moore, but more serious. He does show up in A View to a Kill, near the beginning, but gets killed. Or maybe that's Moonraker, I forget which. It's one of the really bad ones. San Francisco made a strange place to film the conclusion. I mean it's a cool place, but not really exotic enough for a Bond picture.

In conclusion, I'd like to help, but while I'm sure that there are some good tattoo parlors in San Francisco, I've never spend much time there, so I wouldn't know. I have seen The Streets of San Francisco and Party of Five. Party of Five is a strange title for a TV show about a group of orphans. You know what's really confusing about it? The guy that played Charlie on Party plays a guy named Jack on Lost, but there's also a guy named Charlie on Lost, which confused the hell out of me the first few episodes until I got used to it. I used to think this was a reference to Lord of the Flies, where one of the leaders is Jack, but he's the leader of the chaos group while the Lost Jack is the leader of the civilized group. Maybe they're going for irony there. Except that wouldn't be ironic so much as a juxtaposition of characters in their translation from one story to the next.

In conclusion, Lord of the Flies is an excellent book that everyone should read.

I was literally laughing out loud reading those responses. Why do you want a David Coulthard tattoo anyway?

Isn't the spider portion of his costume the unofficial icon if spiderman?

Of what significance are those symbols to you?

I grew up in a "Christian" household. and later spent five years in a Church of Chris. So i know a pretty good amount about the Bible and Jesus, but it's really hard to believe in something when it says you are going to hell for loving who you love (i'm a lesbian) that's why the symbol is off to the side, as much as it is a part of my life and of how i act, it is almost apart from me.

the Aum and the Ankh are together because what i know about them brings me peace, an understanding of the world that i can understand and accept. they are there because i want to know more and i want to bring the ideas together and make them a part of me, even more so than the cross is.

the symbol with the arrow in it is my name (in a language i made up in high school, so no one could read my journal, and have been using ever since.)
