Getting rid of static in clothing
i have a couple jackets and a few pairs of basketball shorts that are crackling with static... i find myself being shocked by doorknobs and filing cabinets more often lately too.

I always use liquid fabric softner for the not-natural fabrics. I find them a bit more thorough that dryer sheets.
Also there is an aerosol spray called Static Guard, but it smells awful when you spray it. Finally, if they're static-y on you, use a moisturizer after a shower too.

Here's one item: http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product/06-0531 Static Eliminator (2 per box) The first time you use these incredibly effective reusable, chemical-free dryer sheets you'll notice a difference in your laundry. Unlike disposable dryer sheets you throw away after every load, Static Eliminator can be used up to 500 times — saving both money and waste. What's more, these hypoallergenic sheets are ideal for allergy sufferers because they're free of the harmful chemicals — three of which appear on the EPA's Hazardous Waste List — used in conventional brands. Works wonders at removing pet fur from laundry. Guaranteed to never spot or stain. 12"L x 7½"W. Canada. 2 per box. And another: http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product/06-0598 Dryer Balls Designed to reduce drying time and soften fabrics without the use of chemical fabric softeners, Dryer Balls are an eco-friendly solution to landfill-clogging dryer sheets and chemical-laden liquid softeners. As your wet laundry tumbles in the dryer, these bumpy balls lift and separate fabric to make it soft and fluffy, and allow air to flow more efficiently — proven to make ironing easier, decrease lint and reduce drying time up to 25% in independent testing. 4½"L x 2½"W x 4½"D. China. Not sure if these products are available a stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond because we purchased them from Gaiam. They have other really cool stuff like the computer ball chair I'm sitting on right now!
