What are your plans or what are you looking forward to in 2007

For 2007, my SO and I are hoping to conceive our first child. Its gonna be a roller coaster, with immigration and all, but I think itll be a great year! 2007 will hopefully be our year!

kurty[B] 12-27-2006 02:29 PM

My list for 2007 is already getting massive...

At the top... Becoming a Home Owner!

Before a new home taps me dry I'm hoping to make it to the DC, NYC, the Caribbean, and Fairbanks, Alaska.

My biggest goal for the next year is to put together a race car that will decimate the competition at my track. Unfortunately that would require a bit of monetary investment. I need to work on that part.

The_Jazz 12-28-2006 06:03 AM

A continued happy and health family.

$25,000,000 in premium this year at work.

Reversing the weight-gaining trend from the past 10 years.

ShaniFaye 12-28-2006 06:08 AM

I dont know exactly what Im looking forward too lol Dave is going to be gone a LOT this year for work, the first 3 months alone with have him gone a total of 8 weeks to Korea, Israel, and San Diego. He has to go to Bejing as well but we dont know when.

I hope to find a female friend that I actually enjoy hanging out with.

I will be spending my time while he is gone doing family research as usual and traipsing about in cemetaries and courthouse....may be this will be the year I bust thru that damn brickwall :)

Redjake 12-28-2006 06:56 AM

I hope to trade my car for a Pontiac GTO and purchase a house. And play more videogames!

chopstix 12-28-2006 08:55 PM

it's simple for me:

my wedding.
and the honeymoon, of course ;-)

clavus 12-28-2006 09:59 PM

Flying cars.

Sugar&Spice 12-28-2006 10:41 PM

I just graduated from college in December and so I am am looking forward to moving to a new city (probably Portland) and starting a new life there. Finding a job that I really like and getting paid well is also in the plan.

mirevolver 12-28-2006 11:17 PM

If US immigration will cooperate, I will get married to my fiancée in 2007.

...the paramedic program at my school... to be started in early january, and completed this time next year...

To push the expression "Good times." further into the vernacular- I've been pushing it for many, many years now, and I'm starting to see it here and there.

An example convo using it to express approval or happiness:

Dan: Hey man, how are ya?
Bob: Not too bad, you?
Dan: It turns out that I don't have gonorrhea after all.
Bob: Good times.

See? It can also be as simple as just a general expression of acknowledging someone has said something... sometimes especially if it's something we didn't need to hear.

Like this:

Dan: How's it going, Bob?
Bob: Not bad, how about you?
Dan: I have an erection, and I'm not sure why.
Bob: Good times.

:)

2007 will see my family join me in Singapore.

It will also see me change the face of television.

Pip 12-29-2006 07:38 AM

sillygirl 12-29-2006 08:11 AM

My plan is to make myself a more stable person: find myself, figure out my relationship worries, etc

I plan on spending more time with my son, and I really really really hope to be able to buy an STI

Wow! Never knew anyone who was planning to birth a rollercoaster. Sounds painful...

(Remember to name the little one after me)

I have no major plans for 2007 as of yet. Why plan when I still haven't finished my goals for 2006?

snowy 12-29-2006 11:24 AM

Hopefully I'll be finished with school by September and be able to list myself as a substitute teacher. My plans are to substitute teach while trying to get into a Master's program in teaching/education.

I would also like to travel a bit more, but we'll see how that goes.

rockzilla 12-29-2006 06:41 PM

Goal #1 - Open the 'Intermission', a breakfast/lunch joint which also sells frozen microwaveable meals for busy/lazy government workers with far too much money to spend. I've scouted out a perfect location and I'm just waiting on approval from the powers that be.
Goal #2 - Get a pair of reservations for El Bulli in 2008

stevie667 01-01-2007 04:52 AM

Plans: publish a book, sell an invention, finally go to university.

Looking forward to: getting back into shape

Sultana 01-01-2007 05:47 AM

External/Easy goals:
I'd like to travel to places I should have visited before, but haven't yet:
Grand Canyon, Sedona, Catalina.

Chicago will be my bonus round.

Finish up a few more burly sets so I can focus more this year on promotion.

Promote my belly dance classes more.

Pay for my sister's laser eye surgury (shh, it's a secret!).

Continue to work on both my fitness levels (more yoga and aerobic activity) and my alcohol tolerance. :)

Work on the house: New paint, carpet, kitchen counters, kitchen flooring! Wish me luck!

Internal (harder):
Will be more honest with myself and others when I am unhappy about things, so I can work on correcting those things, rather than dismissing my feelings to make others feel better.

Promoting sexual enjoyment (umm, my own!).

Looks like it'll be busy again!

As of now, I have to find a new place to live, then during the 12 months of that lease I need to figure out how I can be approved for a mortgage. Any contractors or brokers out there with tips for somebody who works for 12 months at a time?

I also want to incorporate and start investing as a hobby. That could be fun, but if not, at least I'll have a base started.

And finally, get back into school =)

mandy 01-11-2007 06:18 AM

hagatha 01-14-2007 08:41 AM

Every year I plan to make a new female friend. Every year its a dud. This year I am going to try yet again. She has to be sane, funloving and reliable. I have a few leads.....

spindles 01-14-2007 03:27 PM

Get my renovation plans through council and (hopefully) do the construction
Get my golf handicap down around the 20 mark (yeah - I'm a crappy golfer)
Hopefully the legal case with my ex employer will get sorted out this year (2+ years so far)

Willravel 01-14-2007 06:23 PM

This year I'd like to:

1) get a new job that has reasonable pay and somewhere I want to work.
2) spend more time with my family.
3) save the president's life, only to turn around and lecture him for 4 hours about what a bad president he has been and make him swear to act in the best interest of his countrymen instead of the best interest of himself.
4) get in the best shape of my life.
5) finish another Ravel piano piece.
6) get my pilots license.
7) meet Edward James Olmos (seriously).

fresnelly 01-14-2007 06:41 PM

Becoming a parent for the second time.

That about covers it. :D

abaya 01-16-2007 12:49 PM

2007 is off with a bang for me already... having passed my comps last Friday and becoming officially ABD (All But Dissertation), that's a big step for me in the doctoral program. I am done with taking classes, forever.

In lieu of that, my goal is to become disciplined in doing my own work, even without structure and a work schedule (very hard for me). This will be crucial when ktspktsp and I move to Iceland next month, since then the real PhD work begins... and will determine whether or not I finish the program. On-the-ground, firsthand research. No one to direct me. We'll see how it goes.

I've also finally moved in with my husband, and we're approaching the 3-year together mark :D (and just passed the 3 months-married mark). My goal there is to remain independently healthy (emotionally/mentally and physically), and to contribute to the overall health of our marriage as much as I can. It's our first year being married, and we're going to spend it in Iceland... what a doozy! :)

I'm really looking forward to living in Europe again... being close enough to travel to the mainland when we have time/money, and ktspktsp being able to see his family more often than he has in past years. He really needs and deserves that. I also can't believe that I'm turning 28 this year... I still feel like I'm 22, most days. Such is life. But I'm glad to still be a couple of years away from 30. :D

Bring it on, 2007. Give me whatever you've got.

serlindsipity 01-16-2007 06:42 PM

My hopes are for this year is to keep my ball rolling in my life. i have had several wake-up calls that are keeping me wide eyed and ambitious and I want to keep that feeling and sensation alive.

1. I want to continue my project ideas.
2. I want to do anything in my part to keep the continual flow of thoughts and ideas going in my art.
3. I am looking forward to realizing my imperfections (shyness) and openly working to improve them.

Oh and Im graduating. But Im not looking forward to that. I need to find a grad school and fast!!! And hopefully my job will improve. and if it doesnt, im outta here.
