Well I just got offered a job and they require me to submit to a hair and blood test.....unfortunately there was a period where I smoked pot about twice a week for around a month....I stopped in early April.....so am I screwed or what.....I have short hair, does that matter?!? Please help!!! I'm sweating Balls over hear!!!!!

You should be fine....I just took one yesturday, I haven't got the results yet, but I took a home test, just to see and it was negative....

I would go to your drug store and buy a home drug test, they are about $10...See what it says, but I think it will be ok.

Any hair can be used for a hair drug test. This means under arm hair or even pubic hair can be used for a hair drug test, so whether your hair is long or short doesn't matter. Shaving your head is not an effective way to pass a hair drug test.

Standard hair drug tests currently provide a minimum of 90 days of drug use, some can test longer windows up to 180 days.

So if you smoked in April (less than 90 days from today), you may test positive. Let's hope this doesn't happen! I know how much drug tests suck, I've done them in the past.

With any luck, this company might only randomly test new applicants and use it mostly as a "bluff." You might get the job without even actually being tested (testing every single applicant is expensive!). Good luck, don't worry about it, what's done is done.. ok? Keep us posted!

well I find that discriminating ... in our country it's even "allowed" to have pot (for personal use) with me. I find if you smoke pot at home it doesn't mean anything ... it can be used just to relax, It's just the same as alcohol ... to reject a job for that reason is just wrong imo

Okay guys, well I just came back from testing, they took my hair, I didn't do anything to try and beat it so we'll see if I'm screwed or not in a couple of days...........I'll just keep my fingers crossed. I did come to one conclusion though, and that is I'm going to get this job no matter what, I'll be truthful about my brief experimentation and hopefully they'll realize that they would be losing a valuable employee if they refused to hire me.......It's a major corporation which is very conservative though, so it may be a tough sell.........

The testing is for the company's protection. If you get injured on the job, you will be tested again. If you come up positive, the company will probably have the option to NOT pay your medical.

any thoughts about detoxifiers, some friends in Chem class did a report about them and chemically they arent really anything but vitamins and dont really work, but your thoughts....

not much of a report, mostly that they are like vitamins and caffeine and either work to make your urine untestable or "clean" the urine which doesnt work very well. if u drink a lot of water to flush the stuff out the vitamins help to make the urine look normal, but u still gotta be skeptical cause most of em dont really work, that well anyway


be cautious, try them out but be skeptical of expensive detoxifiers

hair test is sooo unrealiable its redickulus. if u are in a room where people are smoking pot, its a positive test with hair.

Basically it's your screw up, if you're doing drugs and you're apply for a job where it's not tolerated at all you deserve not to get the job.
