Roadtrip?
nwlinkvxd and I are getting married. We wanted to do something fun, yet relatively inexpensive for our "honeymoon." I came up with the idea of doing a roadtrip from our home in San Jose, CA to Seattle, WA...where we would stay in a hotel and then one day drive an hour to "Hurricane Ridge" to go skiing.
Any other ideas? I really don't want to stay in CA, but I can't afford a plane ticket. Otherwise, we would be going to Quebec HANDS DOWN! But yeah, we'd like to include skiing because nwlinkvxd and I haven't done it in a long time and both like it. |

Check on gas prices - gas don't come cheap nowadays. It cost me almost $800 to drive from AZ to NY when I moved - add the gas to hotel/meals, you may very well be better off with a plane ticket and use the extra funds to have a good time.
Check out Orbitz and their package deals - flight/hotel combined. You'd be surprised and some of the deals that are out there.

Yeah, even though gas has come down in the past few months, it still isn't "cheap." Do some math and find out just how much it would cost.
As for Seattle, it would make for a great place to visit/honeymoon. I was just there 2 months ago for a friends wedding, and even the "touristy" stuff by the Space Needle is pretty cool, some nice museums and cultural things. If you dig a little deeper, I'm sure there are other non-touristy things there as well. I only had 2 half-days to myself, so I didn't go for the rough stuff, lol.
