It's the "Why pets envy us" Game

My dog envys me because I can get food from the fridge whenever I want, and he has to beg for it :)

jorgelito 10-14-2006 10:59 PM

Ha haha!! I love it!
Ok, ok...My dog envys me because I get to sleep on the bed and she doesn't.

ryfo 10-15-2006 03:12 AM

My doggies envy me because I get to go out the front door whenever i want, and they have to wait to be invited.

Lady Sage 10-15-2006 05:59 AM

My cats envy me because they are all.....fixed if you get my drift

Elphaba 10-15-2006 11:48 AM

Rottie envies me because I can drive and he can't. He would *never* be home if he could. :)

My far too smart little pup, "Sadie" envies me because I know how to unlatch the deck gates and she doesn't...yet.

surferlove007 10-15-2006 12:00 PM

Lump envies me because I'm in college. Oh but I envy her because shes far away :(

Grancey 10-15-2006 06:23 PM

My felines envy me because I have opposable thumbs.........

cyrnel 10-15-2006 06:36 PM

Because we appear not to envy their ability to give themselves head?

Sorry, yes I'd agree with the driving choice. There's something powerful about the gleam in a passenger dog's eye that tells me to keep my keys in my pocket.

Elphaba 10-15-2006 07:44 PM

^^^ You've seen that look, too?

And, ahem, "self-grooming" is an ability worth envy. :suave:

DaElf 10-16-2006 11:43 AM

My dogs hate when I close the door behind me, shutting them out. I think that's what chloe (dog) would envy me for. Scruffy (dog) I love him but he is too stupid to even realize what's going on around him. He has a 3 second attention span I swear.

Lady Sage 10-16-2006 04:23 PM

They envy that I can shove them out of bed when I need/want more room but they cant do the same...

Ch'i 10-16-2006 05:32 PM

My dog envies me because I get to eat everything he's never had, but always wanted.

Elphaba 10-16-2006 06:37 PM

^^^ That is truth. My dogs think my toothbrush might be something I should share with them. If it goes in my mouth, it must be good to eat. :)

longbough 10-16-2006 06:41 PM

my dog doesn't envy me ... Sure, I can eat all the junk I want, but I also have to pick up his crap

Lady Sage 10-16-2006 08:01 PM

Is this where I say im thankful for litter boxes?

longbough 10-17-2006 01:04 AM

OK. That's one advantage of cats over dogs.
My brother and his wife got their cat one of these automated litter boxes that automatically cleans it out when it detects poop, I suppose. It seemed like a good idea ... but then their cat saw this thing in action and that freaked him out. Of course that cat never went near that device again.

Lady Sage 10-17-2006 04:59 AM

Naw, I do it the easy way... dump the whole litter box into a garbage bag then put in fresh litter.

Much easier than the days of combing the yard for stray dog turds. :)

Oh heavens! I don't "yard" my dog. I walk him twice a day and pick up after his "neighborhood decorations." Other times he's with me in the house. When I'm at work he roams the house. He's got enough confidence so he doesn't have to tear up the house or destroy stuff when I'm away. Albert is a good dog.

I've seen folks who "yard" their dogs and it's not plesant at all. When they get delinquent in poop detail the yard starts to look pretty sad. Even if they keep up - there's always the hidden surprise you find on occasion ... but that's the same with outdoor cats, I suppose.

Lady Sage 10-29-2006 05:40 AM

There are a lot of wild cats in my neighborhood. The whole block is their litter box. Such is life I suppose.

longbough 10-29-2006 11:09 AM

When I lived in the UK my neighborhood was very cat-friendly. You could be walking down the street and see house cats lounging around or sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk without a care in the world. It was an odd sight how comfortable they were. I was used to seeing cats hiding from sight ...

Lady Sage 11-02-2006 05:08 PM

They envy the fact that I can choose the music I listen to.

Intense1 11-02-2006 10:15 PM

Thelma Lou (small dog) envies us that we can open the blinds and curtains by ourselves and look out into the yard when we want to. She has to rely on us to do this for her. And she MUST stay on top of what goes on in HER yard.

Lady Sage 11-11-2006 05:50 PM

The cats envy me because I can go take a shower instead of licking myself!

noodle 11-11-2006 07:08 PM

My cat envies me because I can walk out the door without being chased under the neighbor's car and dragged back into the house by the scruff of my neck and sprayed with a water bottle.

And because I don't have to jump on the dresser and throw everything on the floor just to get attention at 5 am on a Saturday morning.

Acetylene 11-12-2006 07:26 PM

My dog envies me because I get first dibs on the hamburgers.

rockzilla 11-13-2006 06:24 PM

If my cats jump on my throat and cut my face at 5 in the morning, it's cute. When I do it, it's a felony.

(Please note that I have never jumped on a cats throat or cut a cats face)
