I suck at ...
So, this has been annoying me for quite a while, though I'm not sure why. Feel free to post a response, or some physical activity that just has you flummoxed.
I can't throw worth beans. (I'm referring to throwing a football around or tossing a baseball around) I suck at it so much. I am by no means unathletic. I range from good to fair at most other athletic activities: running, basketball, tennis, squash, and volleyball as well as a few other random activities. But for the love of me, I can't throw. Almost everyone I've met, save extremely feminine girls who never excercise, can throw much better than me. Even though I beat most to all of my friends in all the above activities, I'm so bad at throwing I almost want to bench myself when they start playing catch. Is there some sort of muscle group associated with throwing that is underdevloped in me? Did I not do enough throwing as a kid? Can I improve this without going out and just throwing stuff as far as I can? P.S. My throwing skills mosthly hamper me when we toss the football or baseball around. |
As far as the throwing stuff goes, I think learning how to throw properly is the best place to start, followed by actually practicing. I used to throw footballs like crap until I learned how to hold one and what it's supposed to be like when I throw it.
Me, I suck at chin-ups. Never been able to do one. Course, I am a girl, and I think supposedly we're not supposed to be good at them, but I really wish I could do just one.... |
Golf. I am the world's worst. Played for a year and didn't get any better. Just couldn't get the hang of hiting off a tee. Would swing 2 or 3 times and not hit the ball at all. I would think swing easy and then swing as hard as I could while looking up to see where the ball was going.

I really suck at back hand-springs right now. I always end up going left instead of strait.

Math, I really suck at math. I also can't dunk a basketball. The closest I came was grabbing the rim. But now, I am further and further away. I also suck at breaking speed or sprints off the line. Probably due to too many injuries and getting older.

I suck at getting started on unpacking my house!
But seriously... ...I am horrible at tennis. I mean the only part I'm good at is the grunting! |

Organic chemistry.
And if there's such a thing as sucking out loud while dancing, I do. |
3 things i really suck at:
running. i haven't got the usual supply of cartilege in my knees, thanks to what i charitably call a "sporting incident" in my youth compounded by years of being overweight. it's like i have to con my body into even trying to run, which results in much flailing of the arms and a general pantomime of running without much in the way of actual speed and certainly no trace of elegance. direction i have no discernable sense of direction. i get lost all the time. drawing i think i may be the worst on earth. |
Anything requiring coordination. Except walking in a straight line while intoxicated. That I can do. Sober? Not a chance. I even injured myself on a swing at the park. I have to use the weight machines at the gym because free weights offer too much chance to do something stupid. I stabbed a guy in the mouth with my cigarette once while dancing. Well, arguing with a friend on the dance floor, but close enough. I trip over nothing, too.
Apparently I suck at figuring out when to keep my mouth shut and when to speak up, too. Or maybe I just don't care to take the time to figure it out lately. :D |
I can't draw to save my life. My stickmen make people cry.
In other news, if you want to improve your throwing ability, it starts with improving your throwing technique. Pay attention to how quarterbacks throw footballs and how pitchers throw baseballs. |
