Animated Avatar Help
I'm almost scared to ask...
How does one create an animated avatar? I've searched the forum and read so many things that say "avatar" in them that the word now looks silly, but I still have no useful information. What I am in search of is a free program that can let me make animated (as in switching frames, not as in a tiny film) avatars. I've been making Firefly avatars for a very sexy lady who has a birthday coming up and I'd like to make her one that switches frames. Any advice? (PS, if this has infact been posted previously and I just missed it for foolishness, please go ahead and delete this! *scared*) |

I used gimp to create my avatar. I'd recommend just saving my avatar and taking a look at it in gimp to see how I did it. http://www.gimp.org/windows/
Also, check this site out for a tutorial on how to do it: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Simple_Animations/

The easiest way to animate a series of images (that I have found) is with Unfreez.
http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/ With it you can take any number of images, set the "refresh" time and it will string them together into an animated gif. It does not allow for the really detailed avatars (like mine) but will help you make a simple one.
