need a good "how-to" book
I would like to finish my basement but need a good step-by-step reference. Any suggestions? Internet based or book form is preferred.
I intend to frame it, insulate it, drywall it(i may hire someone to mud, tape and sand), hang a suspended ceiling and then hire carpet guys to lay the carpeting. |
Home Depot publishes a series of books that is not only well written but well illustrated. Another option is to do a search on Amazon and then read the reviews published there. I've had pretty good luck using this method to locate well written books on a rather eclectic range of topics.

Shit! As much as I hate Home Depot...I gotta admit, their 1-2-3 series of "How To" books are excellet. They are written toward the novice, are very detaled, and well illustrated.

Try these book: Remodeling a Basement http://www.taunton.com/store/pages/070744_intpg.asp And these search results for basement from Tauton: http://www.taunton.com/dtSearch/aspT...p=fh&sort=Hits There are number of great articles on that site. Their magazine is the best $8 I spend. |
