Webcam of Home Construction
 

Has anyone ever viewed a webcam of new home construction? A lady in our office has a son (who is a computer programmer), that is having a house built. The construction company asked if he could set up a webcam to view the entire process, I have no idea about the details of the agreement, but it is set up, and running.

I had a chance to view it for a few minutes today, and it's more than interesting, it will be a great tool for the company, whether in training, or sales and promotion or whatever.

I was going to post the URL for your viewing, but am unable to do so because would have to get clearance from the company, and I'm not intrested in getting involved in that. Anyway if you know anybody that has access to one, or know where can be located it would be well worth your while to take a look.

Well, this isn't a home but the new physics building at my university. They took these pictures with a week in between each frame. And I think this is what you are referring to. They are embedded Quicktime movies:

The page of the building has some additional pictures and stuff, but its all in Dutch. There are also 3 live webcams which are placed throughout the finished building.

It would also be a good way for the people back at the office to know that the workers are actually working; at least, that was my first thought.

if I were the homeowner, i'd be the one wanting to set up the webcam, to check productivity!

I would love to have a webcam like that set up if I ever got anything like that done. When I was at OSU last year, they had one for the stadium construction, and that was cool to look at even though I could easily get up and look. I also like when people take pics of the stages, that sort of stuff is really cool.

I work for a home designer, & we have been thinking about doing this for a while with one of our houses, but I never thought of just setting up a webcam. We planned on nailing a little shelf on a tree & taking a digital camera out once a day to take a pic in the same spot.
