"I'd hit it" <-- ??

OK, I understand the meaning of the phrase "I'd hit it" from context. But I can't figure out the derivation, and it is bothering the hell out of me. I've checked the obvious places (FARK.com: Frequently Asked Questions: Farkisms, UrbanDictionary.com), and I'm not getting any information. And Google; well, let's just say that Googling doesn't help.

Anyone out there know the derivation?

Well you are right that it started on Fark (at least so far as I know).

If I recall correctly it came from a derivation of "tap that ass." That lead to "I'd hit that ass" and then the ubiquitious "I'd hit it."

It really took of a few weeks later as a Fark cliche when people started photoshopping various famous pics with the line as a caption.

This was an early one

I just started noticing it after Britney Spears first song, but that may just be the power of association.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

And the_marq, your image is broken (at least for me).

Think it may have gotten started from the phrase "hitting skins". No idea if I'm right, it just sounds good to me.

It seems like back in the mid 90's we were saying something to the effect of "let me hit that thing" or "let me hit it".

It goes back to at least the mid 90's. Maybe not the exact phrase but quite similar.

I highly doubt it started on fark.

That saying has been around as long as I can remember..
