hmm. i have a 2000 galant but i want to remove the lettering and just leave the mitsu sign. any thoughts on how? are there professionals that do this at body shops?

Is the lettering just vinyl? If so, use a 3m Stripe Off Wheel, clean the remaining residue off with something like Goo Gone, and if need be, follow up with something like Meguiars Scratch-X. Wax when you're done. Thats how we did it at the shop.

Sometimes you have the larger hard plastic stick on letters that protrude out. Those we used to heat with a heat gun and peel off, use goo gone and a soft plastic spatula to get the bulk of the adhesive off, then finish up the same way I described above.

Dental floss works pretty well for the thick plastic markings that dealerships put on cars. Just work a piece of floss between the letters and the car.

Some badges actually are almost riveted into the car. Not teh right term... but i cant think of it at the moment. Some companies drill holes, then teh badge itself has things that stick into those holes. So when (if) you take the badge off, it looks like ass and you see the holes in the metal. Usually though, that is for the Company logo that will go on all the trim levels of that model, not the trim level designation.

Ok, that sounded confusing. In a case like this, the Mitsu logo might be fitted into the trunk via holes, while the trim level would probably be glued on.
