MLA Style - Poem Citation
Hey,
Don't know if I posted this in the right subforum, but didn't know where else to put it. Anyways, I'm writing an english essay on poetry. I was wondering how do I cite a quote from a poem in my essay (not bibliography)? Do I need to include line number? An example would be great!!! Thanks. |

assuming you specify the poem in the works cited specifically, all that is required according to this site is the author name and line number (NOT page number). |

Thanks for the links.
One more thing. I forgot to mention that the book I'm using contains a bunch of 20th century literature, so there is more than one poem in there. Therefore, I think I need to include the page number? Should the page number be first, then the line number? or the other way around? Thanks for all the help. |
