determining keyway on a "Best" key
does anybody know how I can determine the keyway on a "Best" or "Best Access Systems" key? the only lettering on the key is a 2 above the line "D1A 110". I don't know if this says anything about the keyway or not. If anybody knew where i could find some pictures of the keyways they use, that'd be great (i tried looking but couldn't find anything). Thanks

I don't have a key reference anymore, but Best makes a lot of commercial locks whose keys can't be copied at the local hardware store. This can be for several reasons like obscurity, special machine, or because copies can only be obtained from Best by the registered owner of the lock.
If you're trying to find a blank, about all I can suggest is going to a place that cuts keys and compare your key to the blanks they have. If that doesn't work, you'd have to go to a locksmith where you may find out it's a non-duplicatable key. |

yeah, all i need is a blank. I know a place on the net i can get it but i need to know the keyway and they don't have any pictures of them. They had about 15 possible keyways all with a designated letter of the alphabet. I'm pretty sure mine is one of the main keyways. If I can't get a blank, does anybody make or sell blank blank keys without a keyway cut into them, cause i could just do that part myself as well. I doubt they make those, but you never know. I won't have access to a decent store with blanks for a few days so I won't know about finding one at a store till then. Thanks for the help
