Plumbing question

Its kinda a wierd problem and one my and dad have been mulling over for a while. In our restroom our sink for some reason is plugging itself up, we've changed the pipe under the sink but still doing it. Our tiolet is now getting in on the action also by empting really slowly, but I've noticed a pattern of sorts. Every time we flush, the tub or the sink gurgles really loud and then the tiolet will work perfectly.
I was thinking that maybe the sink problem was unique just to those pipes but...with the gurgling maybe they are connected. We are thinking of tearing into one of the walls to work on one of the pipes behind the wall to see if that will work.
And occasionaly we are having problems with our septic system, stuff might come out not alot...but still stuff does.

OK, first off, your blockage is somewhere below where the drain pipes for the toilet, sink, and tub combine. Have you snaked your drain yet?

For your septic system, what kind of septic system is it? Do you have a tank alarm, and is it flashing? How long has it been since you had your tank pumped? You should do this at least every three years - more if you have a big family that uses a lot of TP or if you use a lot of bleach in your wash.

Also, what exactly is coming out? is it white foamy stuff? If so, you're probably putting too many enzymes in there. My parents used to do that to our system when I was a little kid. Got a lot of white, foaming bubbles coming out of the tank. I used to love it 'cause the dog would go nuts barking at it ;)

If your septic system is stuffed up then you need to call a guy to pump it out. If you don't keep the solids pumped out then it can overflow and clog your field and cost you a whole new system.

Small chance it could be a blocked vent. You know those pipes that stick up through your roof? They let in air to "make up" for the volume of water going down. If the vent pipe is clogged then it will slow drain and gurgle really loud when letting air in the wrong place. Check 'em.

Sounds like more than one problem to me....

Im not an expert... but the soil stack could be blocked..... and cause the gurgle noise. and..... the toilet has a bad seal on the flapper maybe and that would cause it to empty and run. get that septic pumped! hmmm... Everyone else said the same things.

Blocked vent was the first thing that popped into my head to. However, I'm not a plumber....just a novice.

I had a problem like that at my old house, the toilet was constantly backing up , the sinks were slow draining as well. It always happened when you flushed the toilet and then EVERYTHING would just be slow going. We called the plumber they snaked it and thought they had it clear but a few days later it happened again. Called them back a third time and they desided to scope it , turns out that the pipes going from the house to the city sewers were all busted up and trees were growing in them. I m just glad we didnt have to pay for it, because the trees were on a city property line they came down and fixed the pipes at the cities cost.

Also a navice but it sounds like the vent is blocked. I have had the same problem before, I let the water run while I climbed on the roof and snaked out the vent. Worked for me.................
