Victorian style "push button" light switches
I own an old house in the west end of Toronto. When i moved in, there were still a couple of the original styled "push button" switches in the place, but they had exposed contacts, and they were impossible to find.
Well, i ended up stumbling on a company that produces very authentic replicas of the originals in Michigan I think. I ordered a few switches to see what they were like and i am most happy with them. They give a great authentic feel to any older home, and work great. They are a bit pricey compared to you average 60 cent single pole switch, but as Frank Lloyd Wright once said, "God is in the details" If you are so inclined, here is there web site http://www.classicaccents.net/ I in no way work for this company or am paid to endorse them, don't get me wrong. I am just very happy with the quality of these switches and the service i received. My whole house is being converted back to the original styled push buttons cheers |

Thanks...I have used a few companies for door knobs, hinges, etc...(Nostalgicwarehouse.com, and restoration hardware).
A great magazine called "Old-House Interiors" has lots of products and companies that replicate or are dealers in old house components. |
