MLA Format

Could someone show me a proper example of how to cite a webpage in MLA format? Where all the periods go and such.

im citing an editorial from lexis nexis/new york times that does not have a listed author, what should i do?

ALso, i have an article from the ACLU w/o an author, who should i give "credit to" for now i just have "aclu" in my paper.

If you're feeling spiffy, you could do books and such too.

MLA format from 1997:

WWW source example:

Limb, Peter. "Relationships between Labour & African Nationalist/Liberation Movements in Southern Africa." [http://neal.ctstateu.edu/history/wor...es/limb-1.html]. May 1992.

(the url should NOT be underlined.)

Editorial source example:

"The Last Chapter in a Sordid Affair". Editorial. <U>The Toronto Star</U>. 5 Dec. 1991: A22.

as you can see, when something is unsigned, you just skip the author portion entirely, and go right to the title.

now lastly:

Book, one author, source example:

Blumenson, John. <U>Ontario Architecture</U>. Toronto: Fitzhenry and Whiteside, 1990.

From Writer's Inc (which I reccommend you buy if you ever need a lot of english things, it has EVERYTHING)

Quote:
Electronic File on the World Wide Web (No Print Version)
[tab]Bowker, Samuel T. "Cyberspace: Debate on Research Use."
[2tabs]12 Sept. 1996: n.pag. On-Line. Internet. 5 Oct. 1996.
[2tabs]Avaliable WWW: http://www.ppc.new.edu/home/stb/com.

Article in an Electronic Journal (No Print Version)
[tab]Elkhart, Wolfgang. "Planning for Resource Shortages." Earth Care
[2tabs]8.3 (10 Apr. 1996): 8 pp. On-Line. Internet. 6 June 1996.
[2tabs]Available FTP: berline.cc.stanfordu.ca.

General:
Elements of On-Line Entry (No Print Version)
[tab]Author's surname, first name. "Title of article or document."
[2tabs]Title of journal, newsletter, conference document, or file
[2tabs]volume number.issue number/or other identifying number (year
[2tabs]or date of pub.): number of pages or paragraphs if
[2tabs]given/or n.pag. On-Line. Name of computer network. Date of
[2tabs]access. Available: specify electronic address.
Thats the general, hope it helps because I took this time to type it in.

note that the tab references are just for overflow, you dont have to add a carriage return after the article name :P
the tab references are also just that, reference, the indentation is the same as anything else.

hope it helps... and good luck
