Ac installation

I wanted to install Ac, however, I don't have the type of window that closes up and down I have the type that closes left to right, is it possible to build a vent leading to the window instead of hanging it out the window precariously. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Umm is the window open wide enough where you can fit the air conditioner in? If so just make some wood spacers to fill in the gap.

merkergutiars way is the easiest, as long as the window is wide enough...... And you use the angled support brackets to hold it in place, usually if none of your windows will allow a window ac unit you have to cut a hole in the wall.... frame it out and intstall it there, it's more work but at least you can still use your window.

build a box and supports for it if it doesn't fit in the window. so it stays just out side the window

Part of the problem is that I live in a uptight neighborhood, they really don't want anything that is not part of the house to be seen, I can't even put backyard furniture in my backyard. Getting a window ac as opposed to a portable ac would be save me a lot of money, the only problem would be mounting it, so that it is undetectable. Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks again for your comments.

Wow - i'm not quite sure what to say after reading that. Do you have it in writing? What sanctions could they impose upon you? Hell, I live in a condo and my association isn't that strict. I'd pursue this further.

Zero may have worked this out in the corresponding 7 years but ya never know.

You need the whole back side completely out the window if it's a window A/C, really no other way to do it that I can think of... sorry.
