What animal tracks are these?

Found these in my backyard, not sure what animal left these. My first guess is a possum but it is just a guess, there about 3 inches across each track. Any ideas?

I did some online research. It looks like a pair of tracks from a bounding animal. Maybe weasels or rabbits or squirrels or something.

Bounding animal with long tail. Do possums bound? I think they scamper.

Do you live near any nuclear facilities, government genetic research labs, or toxic waste dumps? If yes its a giant frog with a tail. If the answer is no, i'd have to say it looks very squirrelish...

It doesn't look quite like the squirrel tracks around here, I'd say rabbit.

It isn't rabbit as they have four tracks with two larger and two smaller and their tails don't drag, they puff! Is this one set or two sides side-by-side? I'd have to say mice but they usually burrow under the snow unless they are on a driveway or other hard surface.

A friend said they look like mink tracks because that is the way they bound.

I've seen a possum in my backyard before so i think that might be it, but the hole under my shed is pretty small and the tracks lead to it. Anyone want to come over and stick your hand in? Beers on me!

Well she wants a cat, I guess I could see a use now. Cheers

I had to call the city this morning as there was a dead skunk on my neighbours driveway this morning, near the end of the road. Big sucker too. Stinky. It is like wild kingdom here. City style.

I just went for a hike across one of the mountains around here that still has snow on it, I'm quite thoroughly convinced now that it's a mouse.
