Painting stripes on a wall
Ok - so I am moving into a new apartment here in Beautiful Copenhagen. The walls are all white, which is fine with me. However, In one hallway there's a fairly long wall where I want to put to horizontal stripes about a foot and half apart, and then fill the space with pictures. Now, how do I get those lines to be level?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I am NOT a DYI maven, by the way... Thanks, Ripp |
I would try it with masking tape and get it straight with a laser level.
But I've never done it. Perhaps someone else has. |
tape would work if you had a level and one of those blue line chalk things.
or have you thought about wall paper? i'm sure you can find some blank paper that would be much faster to put up and take down. |
get a yard stick. Measure up from the floor to the bottom and top of where you want your stripe to be and make a pencil dot at those points. Repeat once every yard down the wall. Now line the yardstick up with the dots and draw a line. Now tape off above the top line and below the bottom line. Now paint.
