The george bush stamp
The U.S. Postal Service has created a stamp with a picture of George W. Bush to honour his achievements.
In daily use, it has been shown that the stamp is not sticking to envelopes. This enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation. After a month of testing, a special presidential commission has made the following findings: 1) The stamp is in perfect order. 2) There is nothing wrong with the applied adhesive. 3) People are spitting on the wrong side. |
even for someone who dislikes bush a massive amount, i found this joke distasteful.

Just a reminder:

Has the original post been edited or something? I don't see anything distasteful about this joke. It's not particularly funny ... but that's probably just me.
Also ... the rules about posting "FUNNY JOKES" only is sort of vague don't you think? Humor is highly subjective ... |

I can find several layers of comedy in this thread.

Same joke with <a href="http://www.joke-archives.com/political/clintonstamp.html">Bill Clinton</a>, <a href="http://www.hehe.at/funworld/archive/fun4you.php?joke=1995">Jean Chrétien</a>, <a href="http://www.jaalmag.com/jokes/p23.htm">Laloo</a> (who the hell is Laloo?), <a href="http://miljokes.com/a/may02/230502.htm">Mussolini</a>, <a href="http://www.peteranthonyholder.com/01-01-j.htm">Stalin</a>, <a href="http://www.tech-sol.net/humor/politics69.htm">Hillary Clinton</a>, and <a href="http://talk.ocregister.com/archive/index.php/t-16281.html">Schwarzenegger</a>, and that's just from the first two pages of my <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=stamp+spitting+wrong+side&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&start=10&sa=N">Google Search</a>.
Does that make it more funny or less funny? |
I smirked. Maybe this joke isn't funny, but it is smirky.
|
There are no more original jokes, only twists on old ones.
A Rabbi, a priest, and a minister walk into a bar, the bartender says, "what is this, some kind of a joke?" Paging Mike Hunt. This was the first I'd seen this particular joke. It was smirkworthy, which is as much as I can say for any of mine. |
I found this joke funny. Yes it has been around for awhile apparently, but I had just now heard it. The fact that the joke is about good ol' Dubya makes it that much funnier to me. I found alot of the objection to this joke to be more humorous than the original post. This is after all, humor.
Now to get serious for a minute. I interpreted the post about "not a place to dump your email" as meaning. "Don't copy/paste 10 jokes at a time." Personally, not all jokes are funny to everyone. Don't like it? Try hitting backspace on your keyboard if moving the mouse to the back button is too much effort [/sarcasm] |

The joke is that Bush ordered a speical presidential commision to investigate stamps, when he didnt for 911 and Katrina
|
That was definately worth a little chuckle.
If you don't like jokes about people... this might not be the best forum to be looking at. |

Of course, that was when stamps still had an adhesive you had to wet... Then the postal service made the peel and stick stamp, and eliminated a lot of very good jokes. |
Ah, come on, it's not an attack on Bush per se, just whoever happens to be in power at the time. The first time I heard it, Bill Clinton was the target. I've also heard it about Hillary.
