A Jew, an Irishman...a brothel...well, you get the picture
A Irish man, a Jew and a Southerner were all digging a ditch one day across the street from a very popular brothel.
Halfway through the day, a furitive figure dressed in black darted into the brothel's wide open doors, but not too quick that the Southerner didn't recognize him. "Hey," cried the southerner. "That shore looked a lot like Preacher Jonas." "Filthy, filthy man." the Irish man screamed waving his fist in the air at the house of harlots. "Imagine a man o' God hisself getting mixed up with those filthy whores. Sneakin' in like he some kind of thief in the night. Like he was aaaa-shamed! O' course I wouldn't expect nothing less from your type" the Irish man gave the Southerner a stern look. A few hours later, a Rabbi non-chalantly strolls down the block and greets a strange woman rather familiarly at the front door. "Oh, lookie there!" cried the Irish man. "Ain't that one of your boyos?" the Irish man eyed the Jew. "Walking up to such a place like it t'weren't anybody elses' business. The audacity - a fellow of God and all - visiting such an unholy and sinful place with such a bedeviling smugness about him." A few hours later a Catholic priest shows up outside the door of the brothel hiding under the dark shadow of an enormous umbrella. The Jew and the Southerner look at each other and then look at the Irish man, waiting patiently for the smug little man to say something. A few minutes pass and no one says a word. Finally, the silence is broken, "Hey you." the Jew says, "That preacher fellow went in you say something. That Rabbi went in you say something. A priest walk in you say nothing?" "T'ain't nothing to say," the Irishman takes a long pull on his bottle. "It's really quite obvious." he says. "One of those poor lassies must be dying and the whores didn't want anybody knowing bout it."
