A sad day in the world O humor...
 

I just read this today from the Miami Herald's website (being an uber-huge fan of the Godly being
known as Dave Barry,) and found that he's taking a leave from writing weekly columns for at least a year.

It is a plus that they're almost done finishing the Complete Guide to Guys movie, and he probably
won't disappear for good over the next year, but I find that I've never read a person quite like Dave
Barry. Funniest, craziest stuff I've ever read, aside from maybe Woody Allen (also my hero). Also, the guy
is involved in basically everything. Even though it seems like he hates Miami, he's always doing something
wacky in the town, or putting together something with other Herald members.

Any thoughts, comments, flame wars (well, maybe not flame wars)??

It is amazing that he is able to be consistantly funny for such a long time, I have a couple of his books too and they are great reading if you need a laugh. I love how he can find something that seems to speak to all of us.

His fiction is even better than his articles. Big Trouble is a very well written farce. The movie was good as well, but the movie isn't as dark as the book.
