Mad-Libbed Analogies
For those familiar with Mad Libs, this should be easy as (NOUN: consumable, digestable).
But to state it simply, in order to participate here, all you need to do is supply a familiar (or entirely unique, if you would prefer) , analogy phrasing, and leave blank/supplant the one word in the phrase to which the analogy can be completed by a fellow, following member. One can continue playing this by either quoting a previous analogy posted, or creating a new one of their own. You can even complete your own analogies, just to have fun with it. The best example, I always say, comes from the setting of the OP, so with that, we'll roll on with creatively-completable analogies... "I like my coffee the way I like my comedy: (adjective: one-word)."

"How quickly we are to forget, as would a bear if (descriptive phrase: upwards of four words)."
e.g. Spoiler: awoken by an earthquake.

I'm missing something in this game, as if it were (adverb)
I'm not sure if an adverb will fit there, but I like adverbs. Otherwise, I am just barely grasping at the hair-ends of this thread but I'll keep an eye out. |

I went for a stroll in the park one day, but later came home like a (descriptive phrasing), huffing and puffing, vowing to never go back to that particular park again.

Cool. I just now have come across a web service that uses my idea (at the time, thought it was seemingly-innovative) of blanking out the second analogy, leaving the participant an opportunity to guess.
Quia - Vocab/Word Knowledge: AWESOME ANALOGIES! (and it plays similar to Jeopardy!) (quick note: I believe these "mad-libbed analogies" of mine are fairly often used in IQ tests, behavorial analysis studies, and in certain private/gov't psychological testing endeavors). i.e. Quote:

(I swear I responded.) Moving beside the blunt metaphorical object of allegory that in no way resembles a relevant point, I guess I can offer (/ proffer) some more to this aim. Not quite the "game" / fun intellectual test I'm trying to develop here, but this is another version of the practice, as put forth by Sadlier-Oxford (Institute for Learning). Sudent Activity Center - Analogies - - - My mind is about as sharp as (____).

... and how it can sometimes pop up / down in spurts, unexpectedly.
That's actually quite an awesome analogy, once you get into the pondering of how it relates. Thanks for playing, bagatelle. I need to remember that one. ![]()
