Three high ranking officers were sitting around a table at a base, bragging about how brave their men were.

The first, a captain in the Air force, decided to show the other officers how brave his men were.
"Private!" He yelled, "Go catch that F16 as it lands!"
The fellow replied "Sir Yes Sir!" and as he was trying to complete his task, was killed by the impact of the jet.

The Naval Officer, not to be outdone, called one of his men over to catch an anchor that was dropping from a battleship. This poor man was crushed to death under the giant anchor.

"That, my friends, is courage..." The Naval Officer explains.

The Army Officer bellows for one of his men to come to the table immediately. A recruit of his arrives, and the Officer orders him to stop a tank with his bare hands.
The recruit looks at him in disbelief, and then retorts
"Sir, Fuck you Sir!"
The Army Officer, smiling broadly, turns back to his friends and says...
"Now that, gentlemen, takes balls"

Good joke! I was kind of expecting it, but I was rather glad when it ended the way I anticipated! (that kind of tells you something about me, doesn't it?)

Isn't it "semper fidelis"? Why do things always have to be simplified and mispronounced simply to make them easier to remember? No disrepect intended. I just don't like to see words butchered, that's all.
