Piece of $%@#$(&
My PS2 can be a real little bitch sometimes, and read discs selectively... it used to do this on GTASA sometimes, then a few weeks ago when I got GTA3, it did it, until I got a new disc, then it worked. Then, I was playing FIFA05 fine, but it'd start screwing up, then the next day, I could not play FIFA at ALL. But I could play other games during these times.
What it does is gets to a screen where the game has to load, and it basically freezes there, and starts this absurd clicking noise.. most annoying thing ever.. and it'll do the clicking noise until you turn it off.. I've wiped the disc, no go. Blown inside the ps2, no go. Hit the ps2, no go. It'll play ANY OTHER GAME, except the game that I really WANT to play. Piece of shit. Anyone have any ideas about my bizarre hunkojunk? Thanks ![]() |

Ah, the infamous click of death. You can call up Sony and report a "disc read error" and I think they'll send out an RMA to get it replaced. You need to say specfiically "disc read error". Assuming that you haven't modded it already, they'll repair it, even without a warranty.
If you don't want to get it repaired, you can get the new ps2 for 150. Good luck. |

I've been through 3 PS2s since it came out. Easily the worst quality game system released in recent memory. Definitely my favorite system, but damn, they have some disc reading issues.
