Fixing an Xbox in Canada
I rented DOA Volleyball and it took forever to load the scenes. It gave of a high pic scratching sound. I don't think it was DVD, I think it was the harddrive. After, I went to clearout a soundtrack I had saved and it took forever to do this as well. All the control panel stuff was slow. I have not used it since.
The Xbox is 1.5 years old. Do I call the 1-800 number and get screwed to ship it, or are there shops that can fix it for under a hundred bucks? |
I'm sure you could find someone else to fix it, but what about your warrenty? If they fix and then you have another problem that they can't fix, well what do you do then? Having an outside job not sanctioned by Microsoft might void your warrenty..

I had a problem with my original x-box console. Thankfully it spazzed out under warranty and was able to get it shipped out and fixed.
The tech guy told me that they've had quite a few complaints from the "first round" of x-box consoles and they're not sure why. I shipped mine back and got it back no problems at all. Of course, I'm here in the United States, not too sure about crossing international borders and such, but it seems to me it would be wiser to ship it back to Microsoft and let them sort out the problems. |
I am off warrenty. It looks like it might be cheaper just buy anouther one and get a more controllers than fix it. Or maybe I should just buy one from Costco and then return my old one. They don't check anything.
Thanks. |
