Armagetron. stupid name....cool game

Came across this the other day. It's an update on the old Tron game with the lightcycles, and it's just as addictive as ever. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, but regardless it's a pretty good diversion if you're bored.

Oh yeah! I've burned lots of hours playing the SAME PATTERN over and over again in that game....

YES! One of my favorite games to waste time in in Linux :D

hah i had never heard of it but had a bit of a bash....6 car thingys is chaotic...awesome stuff :)

i didnt look too deeply in the settings but it looked like the car would speed up or slow down seemingly at random. any reason in particular that im missing?

anyway i think i should delete this right now and come back at a later date....i can see myself getting hooked very very easily....

Yes an excellent game!

But playing on a bad server it gets jerky and freaky stuff happens, ex your trail suddenly is in front of you etc.

Ever play with 20 bots..thats insanity

Have you lot downloaded the others? Disc of tron (don't think that that's its real name) and StarTron

The disc of tron game is ok.. but your ball doesn't seem to do anything to the other sides plates.. so I was stuck trying to get this guy just by shooting the ball at him.. anyways.. :)

Stupid name, great game. It's a tron clone of the lightcycle race. It's pretty addictive, get it here and if you want to play online, since none of the servers on that page work use this server: "rawkuts.ftphost.net " (without the quotes ofcourse).

Oh yea, you need to open up UDP port 4532 for it to work I think.

I knew I saw it in some forum, I just thought it was a different one...

You gain speed from driving alongside a bike trail. So you can zoom up on somebody from behind by "drafting" their trail. Just watch it if they jam in front of you!

You can actually get close enough to a trail that you bounce against it for a HUGE speed boost.

This game rocks. I love playing with all the bots at the highest IQ. I have fun because I always loose. This game is taking time from my Warcraft playing time...it is great!
