Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory
Im not sure if many of you are excited about the game but I cant wait. I picked up a copy of the demo today by pre-ordering at a local game shop and it looks amazing. Seems like everything has improved along with the already great moves and things you can do - seems a lot harder too but I wont be spending much time in single player honestly. Multiplayer looks like A LOT OF FUN. I was addicted to the 2nd and would play it on xbox live almost religiously but I cant wait to see how it is in this new version. It looks like they added a new cloak for the spies but we'll see...
Only ~15 more days of waiting and I'll be on cloud 9. |
I played the hell out of the demo last weekend...I was especially pleased to see that it runs very well on my PC.
I am really looking fwd to getting my hands on it come March 15th. I for one prefer single player, the stealth aspect is awesome and I love the new AI. The bad guys are way less stupid this time around/ |
yeah they are - I was watching a video on my demo disk of "What not to do" .. one of the bad guys walks into a room, comments about the lights being off then goes to explore more. Eventually he puts the pieces together and finds his friend knocked out and wakes him up and his friend sounds the alarm after going through a few rooms looking for Sam.
Looks like an amazing game but with all these new things comming up its going to make it even more difficult to make it all the way through the single player for me heh espically because I know I'll get side tracked... |
Looks good, I have the multiplayer and singleplayer betas for the PC. I'll probably get it for Xbox though, I can't stand playing SC with a keyboard.
Oh, and the ship date is March 28th, not 15th. |
really looking forward to this game, i hope the mp is better than the last, I thought that was kinda crudy

Interesting - most hailed the multiplayer to be the shining point of Pandora Tomorrow. Even more interesting sidenote: The team that made Splinter Cell is Making Chaos Theory. Pandora Tomorrow was made by another team of the same developer. It'll be interesting to see Splinter Cell going back to its roots. |
According to GameRankings SC3 has garnered three reviews higher than 9.5 so far.
I too played the demo and felt the original Splinter Cell shine through, and felt my dick burst through my pants. As long as the story is as tense as the first and the gameplay and graphics/sound are the same as the demo this could quite possibly be a contender for GOTY 2k5. |
I loved the multiplayer of the Pandora Tomorrow. Outwitting my friends as a spy was the highlight of the game. We'd LAN and my pulse would pound at some of the narrow escapes I had. Similarly, my friends would grin evilly as they put me down to the mat.
If Chaos Theory continues the same trend as well as implementing co-op play, I'm so there. |
Picked up my copy of the game today and Im pretty happy with it. Everything looks great and the multiplayer hasnt changed *too much (which is a plus in my book). Anyway if anyone on here wants to get a game going sometime just drop me a line my tag is "Ruse".
And BTW PICK THE GAME UP NOW IF YOU HAVNT! |

Got it in the mail. I'm so excited. I reach for the disk to install on my comp...and I realize that it's on DVD...and I don't have a DVD drive. DAMN DAMN DAMN!
|
Got mine yesterday and it's damn good, got a couple of other games I want to slog through first but I can tell this is gonna be one hell of a ride.
|
Thanks for the info guys.. I am running out to buy this TODAY!!!
|
I've also played the hell out of the demo. It's just so awesome to have a lot more customization in both your style and moves. Plus, it looks amazing.

I have an Athlon 2500+ (~2ghz) 512 SDRAM (I need to upgrade) Geforce 4200 ti You could probably get away with medium quality. Try the demo and see, that's what I did. |
Whoever gets this game should give a review
Ive been wanting to play it sooooo bad but i doubt im gonna have the money to get the game =( Looks good though |
I want to read a review, and I want to beat damn KOTOR II first, but it looks like quite the amazing game. Do I have to have beaten Pandora Tomorrow to be in the loop, or can I play without it?
|
You can play without having played Pandora Tomorrow. I have it for Xbox, and its great. It can be frustratingly difficult at times, but overall its a great game. (very) Early contender for game of the year already, IMO.
|
It's more a sequel to the original than it is to Pandora. I'm finding it quite easy but I'm an SC vet.

I just finished the single player campaign (on the PC) with a final score of 67%. Individual map scores ranged from 0% (the boat) to 100% (penthouse and Seoul). It seemed kind of short to me, but I have yet to play co-op or versus. I'm sure those modes will keep it on my harddrive for many a month to come.
Overall, I liked it. The addition of the knife is just too sweet. However, I found myself playing with as few kills as possible, prefering to grab enemies and simply knock them out. I seldom used the guns to kill or knockout foes. I took the stealth loadout everytime, even though in hindsight the assault loadout would have greatly aided me in the 2nd to last mission (bathhouse). This self-inflicted handicap caused me some undue hardship but I feel it was well worth it. I'd recommend this game to anyone who likes stealth action games. I give it a score of 85% or so. Although I am sure I'll give it a much higher score once I play it multiplayer, however. |
Has anyone gone through the 2 player co-op? My buddy and I are stuck on a part pretty close to the beginning. It is the level after the docks. We've gotten into the room with two guards and took them out, but we have searched the room extensively and only found one other door in the room and it leads to a small hallway with a hole in the floor. Once you go down the hole, there is another small hallway with a door that is locked... No idea what to do from there. HELP?!
