winning with culture in Civilization 3 - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Ok, so, the game says it's possible to win by having am "overwhelming culture." So I build EVERYTHING that gives me culture, in all of my cities, and all the other civs are "in awe of" my culture, their cities are defecting to me left and right, and still, it goes through the whole game and eventually I win based on the number of citizens I have. The score doesn't even seem to include culture! How do I win with culture?

Have 20,000 culture in a single city. Or have 100,000+ total culture and have your total culture be at least 2x as much as the second place person.

I don't think there is any adjustment for the culture victory regarding what the map size is. It's tougher to do on the smaller maps.

wow yeah that sounds tough. You'd need to have a huge number of cities and at that point you'd win by domination anyway. Ok, thanks for telling me.

I found that if you are close to a cultural victory you will probably win by some other method. Cultural victory is the hardest to acheive.

I once totally stumbled upon a cultural victory, and I wasn't even trying for it.

Guess I got lucky...

Yeah I actually thought it took the fun out of the game so whenever I start a new one I turn it off
