"Horror fans have been searching for the ultimate horror experience in gaming and we intend to deliver it to them with the tremendous creative input of legendary director, George A. Romero, and Living Dead Productions," said Arindra Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hip Interactive Corp in a company issued press release. "We believe this series will make an important contribution to the growth and results of our Hip Games division."

"This is a fantastic opportunity to share George's work and ideas with the game buying public," added Simon Bailey, Managing Director of Living Dead Productions. "We are very impressed with the quality of work that Hip will bring to the games. George's fans and gamers alike will not be disappointed!"

Romero is currently filming his fourth film in his zombie chronicles, titled LAND OF THE DEAD. It is scheduled for a release next October. In their announcement of the partnership between the two companies, Hip Games mentioned that they will be announcing the first game of the new series shortly.

For his part, Romero remarked "I am very excited to start working in this medium and look forward to the association with Hip. I thank Living Dead Productions for making it all happen."
I, for one, am excited about this, but I'm not yet willing to throw out the possibility of disaster. I know Resident Evil already addressed the zombie-issue, but hey, this is George Romero!

I would be excited about it, except... who is Hip Games? I checked their website http://www.hip-games.com, and of the... well, one game of theirs I've played, I disliked 100% of them. And I've only heard of one other. Doesn't bode well for the zombie game. One can still hope.

I too have never heard of Hip Games. Normally I would be jumping out of my chair reading this, but Hip Games' resume isn’t very impressive.

"George's fans and gamers alike will not be disappointed!"

I hope that this statement is true though, it won't be easy bringing Romero’s films into the gaming scene, but I hope they succeed, it will be hard to topple Resident Evil.

This has such potential. I love it. They need to make a game off the original where you play each character getting to the house. Barbara running from the cemetery, Ben escaping town in his pickup, etc. When they all get there you could be Ben protecting the house until the next level when you have to make a run to the gast tanks.

It could happen. It will happen.
