Anyone still playing City of Heroes?

I know there was a thread about this months ago, but I wanted to know if anyone is still playing this. It's a pretty fun game, not too in-depth.

Currently playing as:

MindSpiral
Victory Server

I heard the makers of COH got sued for giving users the ability to create superheroes that are similar to actual DC and Marvel superheroes. That's just lame.

CoH was really only fun making your characters.

I made Freakazoid, my friend made the Noid (old Dominoes guy). Also made Terry Tate Office Linebacker....

Too bad the gameplay got old faster than a your momma joke.

Quoted for emphasis. I got an energy blaster to 19, it slows down so much after 17-18 I don't know how people can keep playing.

The Skootch, and rather low level Tanker occasionally shows up on the first server, I believe its Pinnacle. As for the boring gameplay, I don't know how some people did it, but many power level thier characters these days. Plus there's just the appeal of being a wicked high level, I guess.

Slows down? I got from 23 to 30 in less than 6 hours. Have you played an MMO before? CoH is probably the fastest levelling one out there.

Especially since they had specific and enforced rules about copying the DC/Marvel names and stuff.

I've read part of the complaint and it is really overbroad. One line was something like "the ability to create a green skinned hero that gained abilities through scientific mutation." How damn stupid is that.

There are 5 main types, (Defender, Controller, Tanker, Scrapper, and Blaster) that are each split up into 4-5 seperate primary powersets with a choice of many secondary powersets as well.

Yeah, almost as lame as putting out such a shitty game.

Wow Justsomeguy,

Thank you for contributing to this thread in a positive thought out way. From your post I've come to learn that I value your thought out opinions and deep philosophical ideas about the validity of other peoples work.

The game is completely different from most other online games. Its a lot more laid back and relaxed, there isn't the drive to level or get loot like there is in other games, or at least not as much. Its different, and some people can't handle that difference, but others of us that are looking for a break from the ultra-hardcore MMOs actually enjoy the change.

Eh, I played it for a few months. Highest character was a level 33 dark/invulnerable scrapper.
It was fun for a while, but it just got flat out boring. And for the record, I think WoW has the fastest leveling. I can get from 1-20 in a few hours. It took me literally days to do that in CoH.

It depends on what you do, I can burn thru 1-20 in about 2 hours if I don't do any quests and get a little help from friends. If I wanted to do quests and level up solo, it would take quite a bit longer.
