Considering I have a family of 6, movies are not an option, we rent videos...lol. AND the money spent on videos is for the whole family. I don't think my wife and kids would like to sit around and watch me play video games.lol. But seriously, I just don't know if I could dedicate the time required per month for a reasonable cost. Sometimes I spend 6 or 7 hours a week playing, but then might not play again for almost a month. Now if they allowed 30 GAME days of play, where if you only played say 10 days this month, and 10 days next month, for 20 days of played "pay" time, then I could consider it. I just hate the fact that you have to pay SOME amount every month. Of course I wish that I had thought of this. you KNOW that Blizzard is making enough money they could probably GIVE the games away and STILL make a mint off Payed play time!

We tried out heroic Durnhold Keep the other day...Let's just say the 1st boss 1 shot our warrior, for 12230 HP...

The "easy" heroics, in my opinion, are slave pens, underbog and blood furnace. You can get the first three badges out of Mechanar pretty damn easily, too (the gatekeeper demons drop badges), but after that the difficulty ramps up CONSIDERABLY without the enslave trick that they patched out. With the right group steamvaults isn't horrible, either. I should note that attempting ANY of these without a warlock or a mage as one of your DPS is foolhardy at best. The amount of reliable CC you lose essentially makes it pointless to do them without one.
Personally, I think underbog is a lot easier than slave pens, except for the mobs at the end which start to hit for 9k+ on a well-geared tank, so if you're having success clearing sp, try moving on to that. Warlocks, I think, make the best cc (for taking care of the early pulls), but mages work just fine on the later humanoid packs near the hydra too. Happy hunting. |

Boo! Don't forget about hunters! Not to toot my own horn or anything but hunter can CC as well. It's not as reliable as sheep or seduce but it works on any type of mob and hunters have dodge and mail armor to survive a hit or two if it breaks or they get aggro. Plus there's got to be someone to roll on the bows and guns
Anyway, today is the 2 month anniversary of Burning Crusade! I don't know about everyone else but I'm loving it. Sure, it's more of the same more or less but I find the 70's instances more interesting and fun than say, Stratholme or UBRS. Karazhan is lots of fun too, no more clearing 2 hours of trash to fight a boss then clear an hour more of trash. The fights are pretty cool too, you have to stay on your feet on fights like Aran and Malcheezar. Well, maybe I like Karazhan because the Prince finally dropped this for me: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.ht...US;source=live heh. I love this bow, hits like a truck. I've been owning it up in the 3v3 and 5v5 arenas with this thing. Aimed shot crits for 3600 and autoshot hits for 700-800 on clothies.

I am a hunter. Doing a heroic with two hunters might work, but traps are notoriously unreliable and difficult to reapply. A hunter and a rogue can do it, but expect to wipe/have near misses much more often. We're solid, but pairing a hunter with a warlock or a mage makes for a MUCH smoother run than any of the alternatives.

They're no more unreliable than sheep, it's just that they're harder to reapply. With the proper talents, you can make sure your trap is never resisted and lasts longer. Even without those talents, I have no problem chain trapping on Moroes for 2+ minutes although I do have the set bonus from Beast Lord.

Oh, so I hate Curator a bunch. We cleared the Opera event (Oz and Crone) on our first shot and Maiden on our second shot this week but we hit the brick wall that is Curator. Screw that guy.

Curator is all about positioning and control. Even though he's timered you should have NO PROBLEM making the 10 minute mark if your raid is in a mix of 70 instance gear and pre-curator Kara gear. Seriously, you can basically ignore that part of the fight.
You want FEW melee for this fight because his hit box isn't all that big and you don't want them chaining together up there. We have 1 tank in arcane resist gear to be a hateful bolt tank and 1 tank in normal defense gear to tank the guy. Both tanks need to go hard. Our one rogue is primarily in charge of running around killing the little charges that spawn. Have healers and ranged DPS spread out in a 200 degree-ish arc with a comfortable amount of room between both the melee area and each other. If you're getting more than 1 chain, people are too close. ALL ranged dps pulls off him and kills the charges ASAP then can return to him between spawns. During evocate, make sure the spawn is dead and then blow all CDs on him. At 15% have your MT pop shield wall and have your healers spot heal on everyone else. Put all your dps on him and burn. He'll drop quick. |

Thats basically what we have been trying to do, I just keep going out of mana by the time his second evocate comes. I blow two super mana pots and my shadowfiend by then, its pretty ridiculous. I have 1100 or close to it +healing unbuffed and 10.5k mana, you would think it would be enough. I just think we might need a better group makeup for him. Our positioning seems ok. The flares just aren't going down fast enough and its making us healers go oom healing everything. The videos I have seen might be a tactic we could try. 3 melee burn the flares really fast because if they get to the clothies it taxes the healers a lot.

Fel mana potions regen 3200 mana over 24 seconds so you can to use it earlier and have a bigger effect. It reduces healing by 25 but it's worth it. Don't use your shadowfiend until the 2nd Evocate if possible. Keep prayer of mending up on the tank. It will bounce between him and the offtank for full effect which is nice. My guild is having the same problem. We'll run ourselves out of mana when the dps falls behind on the adds. goodluck

My priest is 66 and my warrior is 67. BC is AWESOME!!!!
Right now I'm having a tough choice over how to get my warrior a new 2-hander at 70. I would do a blacksmithing 2hander but it takes 2500g+ to get BSing to 375, without the costs of the damned 2-hander. Plus I have 300 engineering right now and I don't really wanna drop it. I'm gonna be doing the arena no matter what so I think I'll just get a 2hander that way.

My account expired today and I'm having serious thoughts about not re-activating. Healing priests are absolutely useless. In a 25 man raid you only NEED 1 (with a shit-ton of sacred candles) for improved Fort and Spirit. You're better off going with a bunch of Shaman and Paladins for sheer amount of unique buffs they can provide. Now they are nerfing mining by moving veins closer to mobs, and having mobs agro when you begin mining. This is bullshit because as a holy priest the only reason I mine is because I can't kill shit. This doesnt hurt DPS classes that already have absolutely no problem making money. It hurts the classes that can't farm to begin with. The holy priest, the prot tank, the resto pally/shammy.. Sure I can spend 50g to respec shadow but then I'm better off farming motes considering I would have to respec back in a few days because of raid. Grr.. Maybe my hunter will be worth playing at 70... only 15 more levls

Shauk, did you or do you play on Kil'Jaeden? I think I've seen your name around a long time ago when I still played my Shaman. I have a 67 BE Rogue now though, on KJ. Grats on Despair btw.

So I feel like I'm finally coming into my stride with WoW. I've found something I really enjoy--battlegrounds! I know, I know...they've been around forever, but when BC came out I rolled a BE mage on my roommate's server. Playing Horde-side is a totally different experience. I've been playing like crazy.
The one thing that bugs me is I feel like I'm finally making in-game friends...but they're all on different realms! If anyone's realm plays with Tichondrius in crossrealm pvp and sees Valestia in 29 AB, say hey.

Heh, I play in the same battlegroup as you snowy. I have a 29 BE Mage as well, but I play on Kil'Jaeden. Canceled my account last night though, but I have until May 18th til it expires. Look for a Mage named Tip.

Not yet, that I'm aware of. I believe guilds are working on the last boss, or bosses, in Tempest Keep - but nobody's even gotten to Hyjal yet. I stopped playing a few months ago, but one of my good friends still keeps me in the loop a bit.

There are probably close to 30 guilds worldwide that have killed all but the last boss of Serpent Shrine Cavern. Of those, I think 5 can kill all but the last boss of Tempest Keep as well.
Lady Vashj is widely thought to be unkillable in her present form, as C'thun was for a long time. Two kills have happened, but they were both achieved through either a straight bug in the coding of the encounter (she dropped 30% life instantly on Nihilum's) and Method exploited a bug that let them tank mobs that should've been untankable. The phoenix boss in TK is widely thought to be unfinished, though a few people have killed him and can repeat their kills. He might just be hard, I haven't seen the encounter. Kael'thas is also probably unkillable at the moment. I haven't heard of anyone making significant progress on him. Presumably they will be fixed when 2.1 hits and both Hyjal and BT become available. I would guess there will be a flurry of kills before the content is abandoned for the new BT and Hyjal bosses. Though everyone's going to have to kill them to get into Hyjal anyway. I've pretty much stopped raiding at this point. I'm busy with other things and it's really really lame to be a PvE hunter. So it goes. |
