Shooting on Halo 2
Maybe this is a dumb question but sorry.. I'm shooting my friends on Halo2 in the chest or face for a long time before they shoot me and then I somehow die first. What am i doing wrong? Do you have to aim primarily in the face or does it matter?

It could be the weapon combo they're using. For example, if you run around with a charged covenant pistol in one hand, and then an SMG in the right, you're almost guaranteed to win any battle you get into as long as you don't completely suck. The covenant pistol takes out the shields in one shot, then a few pulses on the SMG and bam!

It can depend on a few things. As you suggested, shots to the head cause more damage than any other shot. Also, the gun(s) you are using is huge. A shotgun shot to the head is much different than plasma rifle shot to the head. Also, I try to make it a habit of finishing people off with a melee atack of some kind.
btw, my gamertag is lpj8, and I play all the time. Lpj8 |

Are you playing over X-box live? If so, excessive lag can make it appear as if you fired the first shot, but indeed they have already rocked you!
If it is on split-screen or LAN, than it must be your weapon combo. Headshots with the more accurate weapons will result in a one-shot one-kill.
