I'm not sure what's out there right now for the GCN besides Met-Prime, but "Goldeneye: Rogue Agent" is coming out soon for all 3 consoles.

there is nothing half as fun as goldeneye or perfect dark for the gamecube, unfortunately. metroid's a great game, but a completely different one, and so not really comparable. check out timesplitters 2, and i believe there is a sequel coming out soon for that type of fps.

Metroid isn't a pure FPS with the way it handles, but close enough in my book. In addition, the way it handles captures the feel of the previous Metroids. |

I'll second Timesplitters 2. Made by the GoldenEye guys, and it's enough of a clone to keep you plenty happy! There's a level editor included, too, which is awesome once you get used to it's limitations. Plus the sequel coming out in the near future, you can't really go wrong. Easily on the same fun-scale as GE and PD once you get 3 pals going.

yeah, if you liked goldeneye... i'm pretty sure you'll be happy with timesplitters 2. not a major franchise, but a quality title with a lot of polish. i picked my copy up used for 10 bucks at a used game store.
prime is one of the best games of this console generation... but not really an fps in the traditional sense. it's... half-life meets zelda... sort of. prime 2 looks even better, comes out very very soon, and features multiplayer.

Technically it's not an FPS but it's entirely better, Metroid Prime and it's sequel Echoes are works of fine art.
Give them a shot if you haven't already, should you decide they're not your cup of tea, I'll rape you. Aside from those try out GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and Call of Duty: Finest Hour. |
