gamecube platinum question
What is the difference between the new platinum gamecube and the older purple one and black one? the description says the platinum gamecube is technically superior... I was thinking about getting one and just wanted to make sure if i get an older purple or black one i wont be getting something less. thanks

um, they are the same, the platinum is rare, infact, you cant buy them new anymore, they were a 1 year limited edition from last year. Its just a different color.. I've got one and its just as good as any other.

i think i have seen the platinum controllers, at least the platinum wavebirds are around.
are you serious about the platinum being more rare than the other two? I find it harder to find indigo and black now than the platinum.. Everywhere I go I see multiple platinums to 1 or 2 indigo and black. and as far as I know, all of the gamecubes are the same. |

Unless, of course, you buy the fappable orgasmic Panasonic Q.

I was at Wal-mart the other day and they had the best deal ever on a gamecube.
For 99.99 you get: Normal system Mario Kart (49.99) 2 controllers (40.00) Your basically buying the system for 10 dollars. I am thinking about getting this and then selling the gamecube I have now. |

I've been looking for an excuse to buy the Q.
And my GCN broke down. But I have no cash. It really is fappable.

I got my Gamecube last year, at walmart for $80 with the Zelda Games included (Zelda 1, 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask). It was a pretty sweet deal. I think Walmart is going to have it at $80 again this year the day after Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure it's going to include two controllers and Mario Cart. If it did, that would be an even better deal.

although, this deal is pretty useless for those who don't like Mario Kart, other than the fact you get an extra controller. |

Newer Gamecubes (including the Platinums) don't have the digital video out port, and so you can't hook them up using component video cables to an HDTV and get them to work in progressive scan.
If that's important to you, then you might want to check for a used or recon'ed Cube, because they will have the connector. If you get one without a connector, you can contact Nintendo to have them swap systems with you, but then you're likely going to get a recon'd one anyway... |
