Chance of Counter Strike 2?

Any thoughts or rumors towards the creation of CS 2 after the release of the new Half Life? I know it wouldn't be for a while after HL2 if at all, but are there at least any possibilities or things limiting the possibilities?

Just saw the four Half Life 2 in-game movies that were taken at E3! It excites me to wonder what it'd be like as CS!

Well I just did a little more research and came up with a few leads. Can anyone translate this? (looks like "CS2 is in development....is in preparation...."):

And this, but it says it's expected next summer. Well, the quote is from 2001...

can't translate any of it, but since there is a Half-Life 2 coming out shortly I think it would be a safe bet to say they'll do an expansion pack similiar, if not a direct sequel.

i'd imagine HL2 would be very much like it option wise considering the props CS got..

if pc games go through the same cycles as console games, I say there will definatly be more CS stuff

Here's the translation from an online french to english translator: Even if one did not doubt anymore really than counter-strike 2 be in development, person so far truly had not confirmed it. This is thing done today to half word by Gooseman, the one of the two counter-strike creators. Questioned on the subject of the organizations of the personages, and particularly the one emploied when a personage is touched, Gooseman declared ‘' I work full jar on counter-strike 2, and I can say you than there will be a lot more d'animations''.

From what I saw at E3, Counter Strike: Condition Zero will be on the HL2 engine. So creating a CS2 would be redundant.
Not being a big fan of CS (the community not so much the game), CS:CZ looks very nice and I look forward to it too.

Damn, I'm excited. So why do you not like the CS community? I havn't played in about a year so I don't know how it's been lately. I usually play online games based on the people and tended to have good CS friends. .. Met some of the biggest assholes too FWIW

The CS community has a lot of immature idiots. Case in point, the people I go to school with (2 more days of school and I'm done with Highschool, yay! Sorry, not really related) - keeps me out of it for the most part. Well, that and I like slightly faster paced FPSes. And actually, Condition Zero isn't on the HL2 engine as far as I know, just a very cranked up HL1 engine. Which is cool, shows how good a job Valve did with the coding for the original Half-Life that its engine can still be used to make games with a lot of draw and allure even years later. Quality folks, quality. Not like I have to tell that to most of you, I've rarely ever seen such a forum about games... everyone seems so civil, and intellligent. I'm honestly amazed every time I come here. But again... that really has nothing to do with anything in this particular thread, so I'll just stop right about...... now.

Edit: #@$!@#$!@#%!@#% I HATE you ITS versus IT'S, why can't you be as simple as There, Their, and They're?!?!?!?!

Well if I remember correctly that's what it said for features of the game at the demo. But I could be wrong.

CS is fun with people you know. Not snot nose kids with the latest wall hacks and aim-bots

I played CS from it's first beta to beta 5 and gave up trying beta 7. Haven't tried the latest version tho but I may.

Lol, good reading I must add. Glad to hear you're done with HS. I'm just finishing my first year of college and it was easily 100x better than HS, even though HS wasn't all that hard for me cause I blew most of it off. Where u headed?

I played Counterstrike many years ago, from beta2 to just about when 1.0 was officially released. The game and the community have changed considerably for the worse. The immature children of online FPS gaming used to be called "megaTF kiddies", and now they are referred to as "counterstrike kiddies".

You forgot the "N" word but we can let that one slide.

What I didn't know till I went to E3 was that CS is comming to the Xbox. I guess if you want to build your Xbox Live subscriptions just add the most popular online game there is to it
