those are some HUGE numbers
Even with all of the pre-orders its going to be incredibly hard to find a copy of Halo 2 anywhere. Even if they already sent the Gold copy of the game to the presses in august it will take them a long time to make enough to meet demand. |

Halo sucked.
I can't understand how/why everyone LOVED Halo. It used to anger me to hear people praise Halo so much, but I finally came to the conclusion that nearly everyone hailing Halo as the end all to FPSs didn't touch PC games and then I just found the whole situation hilarious. |

That's why. Most people that loved halo haven't played much else, or were suckered in by their friends who hadn't played much else and gave in to the hype. I play all the time because my floormates do.. And, I suck at it. I shouldn't play it for the blow to my ego
![]() Halo 2 is going to bring tons of sleepless nights..

I loved Halo, and I've played tons of PC FPS games. For me, Halo was just so streamlined and approachable. The controls worked very well for a control pad, and the AI was outstanding. The single player mission was great, but the multiplayer kept my roommates and I up all night. It reminded me of the days of Bond. I usually try not to compared Console Games with PC games. For me, they are just different. They cater to a different crowd.
Anyways, I'm one of those 1.5 million people who've preordered Halo 2. I can't wait. |

exactomundo ![]() "blah blah I hate halo blah blah!" it just depends on what you expect out of it. people say it's awesome simply because it's easy and fun to play. I can still pick it up and have a good two hours of fun with only one other person. hell, I can have 8 hours of fun with just the solo mission. still, after all these years it's been out. can you say the same with most other FPS games? it's basically similar to Goldeneye for N64. it's fun, easy to play, GREAT physics engine, and the multiplayer is unrivaled. you want to see a team of 4 people think like military strategists for a night? put two teams of 4 against each other in seperate rooms on Sidewinder CTF. You could work in the White House by the end of the night.

Comparatively speaking, the only other good console FPS game I can think of is Goldeneye.
And if you say Halo sucks, then that leaves only one good console FPS. Halo was great, I had a lot of fun, but many parts were too repetitive to say it was amazing. From what I've seen in Halo 2, the game has only improved ten fold. |

I played through Halo without seeing anything of the game before hand. So everything was a suprise and it was so much more fun to play than when you know what is going to happen!
I didn't even notice the repetitivity, it didn't subtract from the gameplay at all. I just enjoyed dancing with hunters and driving the warthogs around. The controls were perfect (you can't deny that) and it's a very polished game. I don't mind if you don't like it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I just don't understand when people act out against other peoples opionions, acting as if they are wrong! If you think about it, what made Goldeneye a great game? Sure the multiplayer rocked, but i found many aspects of the single player annoying, (Such as enemies just appearing from cleared areas) it often isn't clear about what makes games good.. i never understood why my brothers didn't like Perfect Dark, where it only seemed like an improvment with the extra multiplayer options and such. I'm 100% sure that Halo 2 won't be a let down, as Bungie are a good company. They have worked to make sure that the game improves on things that people didn't like in the first game. And if your going to dismiss it as being crap now, then i feel sorry for you. My only gripe is that games are leaning towards on-liner play and i will probaly never having my Xbox connected to Live. Although i will be playing Co-Op alot. This topic reminds me.. i need to make that Pre-order... |

Why is it popular games are LOVE or HATE and nowhere in between?
I loved Halo for 1 reason. Coop Play. Very few games offer coop play outside the realm of Diablo clones. The controls were easy as hell to pick up, The graphics were great at the time, and are still pretty nice. The VS Multiplayer was also great the few times that I played it.

HALO is the greatest game becuase people don't like to sit alone in a room till the wee hours of the morning. Unlike PC games, it offers great multiplayer capability on a single box. So, now you can play with your friends and have a good time instead of alone with nobody to talk to, swear at, make fun of, etc. Halo brings everybody together. It'd also like to bring out the point that Halo days are spme of the only times when some of my friends have a good time without drinking and killing their brain cells. So if you enjoy playing by yourself either because you have no one to play with or don't like to play with others then go on ahead and do that. But I suggest you get a few of your friends together and give MP Halo a try.

I thought single player sucked for Halo. Didn't like it much at all.
The multiplayer is incredible, however. I've been playing it with my friends for two years or so, and we still find time to play at least one game before we go out on the weekends. Halo 2, will rock our box. I can't fucking wait.

Oh well, I don't mind saying I'm a Halo fanboy. It's a helluva game-MP rocks and the single player is phenomenal. It's the only game that has ever had more than a one year shelf life with me.
I've not only preordered, I'll be attending the midnight release! So take that!

LAN parties are alot more difficult to set up than a friend coming round and plugging in a controller. When i get Halo 2, i'll be playing through it, then immediately ringing my friend to get his ass over here for co-op. It's twice as fun when you get to kill your teammates as well! Oh, and does anyone else like throwing plasma nades at (firendly) sentinels and watching the chain effect? Or is that just me? |

Halo single player was boring in the later levels, and it's a struggle for me to play single player and actually finish a level.
Multiplayer is so fucking awesome it blows my mind. I'm not quite sure what it is about Halo that makes it so much better than other console FPS', but it is funner than any other FPS I've ever played (on a console). Plus, I now have 2 Xbox's and two TV's, so I can play with 8 people. With two TV's it makes team play SO much better since you can't screen watch. It is much more realistic and intense when you can't see the other player's screen. And yeah, the PC version was not nearly as fun. I have Halo on PC also, and I played through it once and then a few times online, but I stopped playing it. The only thing that is good about Halo for PC is the new levels and the amount of players. Other than that PC Halo wasn't very good at all. |
