PC or console?
What is everyone's favorite way to play? I used to be a PC guy, but I got tired of always having to upgrade the hardware to play the latest and greatest.
Now I am an X-box man. I bought my X-box for Halo and now own 20 games. I never buy new - only off E-bay. Thoughts? |
I prefer the PC for a couple of reasons. But basically I like the games better on PC. Not that I dont enjoy the FF series or other consol games. But I just play more PC games than ps2 or xbox.
if you like srtategy games, the pc should be your first choice.there are many good games for the pc,but i've got the impression that the console games are more inovative.i personally prefer the pc because i have more possibilitys, and you allways have the newest technology(money required)

i prefer pc, imo its more verstile than consoles.
I'll never go back to consoles...the image quality of a PC game just blows them all away.
With a PC you can stay ahead of the curve a little bit, yeah, there are upgrades you may need to make...but the same is true of consoles-only you end up throwing the whole console away (or sticking it in the closet). I like being able to download patches/fixes easily, too, with PC games. Console games are good for their ease of use, though. Most people like to just pop in game and hang out with friends...and not have to worry about fooling around with display settings or other configuration issues. I'm just not one of those people: I like to get the best experience I can! |
Definately PC, having the ability to have mods and such for games makes it that much better.
PC, mods, and stuff, and also you can MSN at the same time while playing. Console for the games that PC doesn't have.
I like FPS games so PC has a definite advantage, especially with all the mods you can make to games. It does tend to get a bit expensive though. Constant upgrades just to keep up with the latest games and all the problems you can have with PC's. Consoles are just pick up and go and they tend to be better with other types of games like fighting games, RPG's, sports games etc. I guess I'm torn. I have to have both.
It depends on what im playing, but mostly console.
I understand the argument for PC's. Graphics are better, more games. But for some reason, I play my PS2 a lot more than my PC. Socom 2 is the best online shooter game around. I Love it!
I'm a PC player, but I love my classics, I have almost all the Dreamcast titles.
I basically follow the software. I go to whatever platform the game itself may be on. For me hardware is not a big issue. I have a PC, Xbox, and PS2. I will look for a game that I really want to play, and then get it for the appropriate platform. Even with a game that spans platforms I will take it for the platform that it was developed for. ie, KOTOR I got for the XBox not the PC. etc etc.
PC, more game selection and usually better resolution. Also I prefer MMOs so pc is the way to go.
I prefer a desktop to a console for the simple reason that I am more accustomed to using w-d-a-s for movement and a mouse for aim.
I play and enjoy both. I prolly do spend a little more time on console games due to the sports games. But if there is a PC game that looks at all interesting to me, I'm there.
id say PC... sure they get outdated, but you can upgrade :D
Consoles. No muss. No fuss. And you don't have to buy a new one for Doom 3. However I will play what runs on my tangent. How much runs on it though, is another story.
Honestly though, if I had enough money, I'd go for all the consoles and high end PCs. There's things to like about them all. |
PC. WHY? Everything that you see on a console will eventually be on a PC(Roms).
PC, because you can do anything like customizing or upgrading.
PC, only because I like the strategy/rpg/simulation type games.
The other reason is that I have no real reflexes to speak of so I can't do that button mashing taht most console games seem to require. |
XBOX all the way.
I used to be only a PC gamer, basically. The last console I had played seriously was the NES, and then I played a couple games on Dreamcast. I like playing games on LAN, and FPSes and RTS games are really only good on the PC. I played some console games, like the Final Fantasy series, but only emulated or the PC versions.
However, then I got a job at Sony Playstation, and now I can appreciate consoles a bit more ;-) Racing games and platformers, of course, and also a certain type of RPG (nothing can compete with things like Baldur's Gate for REAL RPG status, of course, but FF and its ilk have their place.) I also appreciate the vast amount of innovation that goes into making some console games - great Nintendo titles, things like Ico and Katamari for PS2... Overall, my GameCube is my favorite console, though, because I like original games. Bingle |
Console all the way. Encourages friends to get together and game together. To those who say that the video is better, you can easily use your monitor as a screen for your console gaming, it is supported and the resolution is just as good.
As for those who say you can have new maps and mod and such. XBOX is the ultimate mod console, new maps, skins, and everything are also available for console games. Lastly, it evens the playing field such that I don't get fragged while my computer connection glitched for a second. |
Console, definitely.
No upgrades. You pay the one time price and chances are the games are just going to get better and better as the designers learn how to harness the system. I don't have the money to keep a PC working in order to game on it. All it's here for is Word and the internet mostly. |
PC all the way. I play mostly RPGs and there are just not that many RPGs for consoles. Also the resolution/graphics quality is much better on PCs than consoles.
I also hate those little controllers... blegh! Could never get my fingers to work on. The keyboard/mouse combo just can't be beat as a controller (unless you play flight sims). |
CONSOLE!!!!!!!!! Play mostly sports games and the console is much better for everything especially the logistics of playing with your friends
Well I have a pc, X-Box, and a Game Cube. I would say I spend more time playing games on the PC.
I really like the exclusive games offered for the Cube and X-box more so then the Sony. As long as Nintendo makes Zelda and Metroid I'll keep buying them. Fable forced me to buy the X-box but I really enjoy it as well. I say just buy, or play the systems that has the games you like. |
I have a gaming PC, xBox and PS2, and I prefer PC gaming.
I get into this arguement with my friends all the time. For me PCs will always win. because PC games almost always have more depth. They also have the benefit of being able to be added on to and modded, 5 years after its release I still play half-life mods regularly. Also, consoles can't be upgraded more than every 3 to 5 years when the next model comes out, while PCs can constantly get better.
