Optimizing System For Better Performance
I'm sure everyone has different ideas on what to do to optimize their system for games. I've done several things myself that have helped, but I'm looking for a little additional advice. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...light=optimize this thread has some good advice, and I've streamlined my system by disabling a lot of services I don't use. What I'm really looking for is nVidia tweaks and directx tweaks. Thinks to get my frame rate up in games like Doom 3 and Unreal 2k4. Any help is appreciated.

If your tweaked out you may need to start in the over clocking arena. Not sure how tech minded you are but there anr many sites that help you out with walk throughs and such. May need to spend some cash on better heat sinks and perhaps a water pump but thats about the only way to get meaningful gains once youve done a few tweaks.

yes water cooling gives you a helluva lotta leeway when overclocking. I suggest Koolance, which although can be a little pricey at times (don't buy from koolance.com site!) it is my favorite system. Buy the exos system, cpu, gpu, optional northbridge (if it tends to get hot), and hard drive (same reason as northbridge).
for overclocking nvidia video cards. The most common way of ocing nvidia video cards is to use coolbits. http://oc3dmark.octeams.com/tip02.html is a good howto on that.
