SplinterCell : Pandora Tomorrow

I've purchased this game about a month or two ago and I'm still hooked to this game. The multiplayer is just..so..GOOD. They recently added a ladder system and it added mucho spice for me. Has anyone played or bought the game?

RockLee-X = SN for SplinterCell : Pandora Tomorrow (PC)
Rank = 15

I'm still in the single player mode, but the game is pretty sweet. Can't wait to check out the multi.

dun_ask 07-11-2004 02:15 PM

You're missing out bro, it's the bombshizzle

Rdr4evr 07-11-2004 03:14 PM

Oh yeah! I never really cared much to even try SC. But one day about a month ago I was bored, so I went to Frys and figured what the hell. I picked up SC 1, became totally obsessed, beat it in a week. Loved it so much and went and picked up SC 2. Beat it in a week. Cant wait for 3.

To be honest with you though, I bought it for the PC and absolutely hated the multiplayer, maybe cuz I sucked at it, who knows. But I love the single player, one of the best games Ive ever played.

Scipio 07-12-2004 11:30 AM

The multiplayer mode looks like a ton of fun. I really want to try it sometime, though I'm not sure when I'll get the chance.

dun_ask 07-12-2004 09:28 PM

great game, multiplayer needs a good partner. w/o communication it's pointless, it's like going rambo on 2 guys with guns and you're stuck with a grenade of smoke.

The multiplayer mode in Spinter Cell, the system link to be exact. Do they insert NPC's or is it 1vs1 ?
And what kind of game modes do they allow you to do?

The multiplayer is either 1v1 basis (Non-Ladder Only) or 2v2 (Ladder and Non-Ladder). No more, no less. The modes that you are allowed to play are; Sabotage, Neutralization, and Extraction. If you want to know details about the types of modes just tell me, glad to help people who want in on SCPT =^_^=

Well, that kinda stinks if you and a buddy just wanted to play. So, there are no NPC/bots in these missions? Just you -vs- the other?

Scipio 07-13-2004 11:30 AM

I don't think there are bots, but the game requires too much creativity for them to really be of any use.

I assume the PC version allows more than 2 players on a team? Not sure, but I'll try to find out. I hope to play this one at the next lan party we have.

No, its only 2 on 2. From what Ive played anyway.

Hmm, it's kind of odd that they'd keep that restriction. I can't see how it wouldn't be more fun with 3v3 or 4v4, though more than that might be "interesting" and not "better."

Probably because if you have 4 spies and 4 mercs running around, it would take away the stealth factor. The whole point is to hide in the shadows and sneak past the mercs. If there was 8 players online, it would be to crowded and take the whole stealth feel away, thats what I assume anyway.

you're right about that and each merc, if you choose to, is equipped with 3 mines each. Say there are 4 mecs, that's 12 mines on a map. The spy is totally SCREWED. Then each spy would have 5 smoke grenades each, that's 20 for 4 spies. It'll get very bulky and crowded.

raffmano 07-14-2004 02:40 AM

Yeah the game is pretty good, but I gotta say that I'm a bit dissapointed in the single player. The multiplayer's great though, but I tend to suck since I bought the game a few months after it's release, and everyone on it seems to be an expert already. sucks for me I guess.

dun_ask 07-14-2004 02:35 PM

hehe raffmano what's your SN on there?

Splinter Cell 3 has co-operative matches against bots and Live players both. Look A-grade from here.

cheeterbo 08-03-2004 01:32 PM

man, that game is hard in multiplayer. i feel so bad when playing with an experienced player.

is there anyway to see a map of the place offline? or practice on a map to become familiar with it?

omega2K4 08-04-2004 07:08 AM

I didn't care for the single player that much. It sucked major ass, the multiplayer is where the main fun is. I used to play a lot on XBL, but I got rid of the game because it got boring.

yeah, just make your own game. and start it. you don't need anyone in there to play. Just yourself

Wouldn't be a problem if the maps were larger, or if the gear kits were altered. I come from a PC background, so I count on games to accomodate larger multiplayer games.

That is true, Splintercell doesn't have that large of a community, if the game were to grow bigger then it should be a lot more fun.

Seaver 08-05-2004 11:21 PM

I beat SC: PT in 3 days, loved the single player.

Tried the multiplayer a couple times, I totally suck at it. They were right about the regulation of 2v2, it'd just be too much at once and stealth would be worthless.

moonstrucksoul 08-06-2004 08:55 AM

i beat it on xbox, dissapointed that you need xbox live to access the multiplayer. maybe someday. i thought the single player was awesome. but i am not a constant gamer. play one game till i beat it about twice a year.
