Processor: Your processor is fine.
Graphics : You should have no problems running full graphics options.
System Memory: You have enough RAM
Operating System: You will be able to play on Win XP.
Architecture: No Problems

Gets around 11K in 3dmark 2k3.

A member of Futuremark, you say? As in, he works with Futurremark, or he's part of their forums, or what? 11k on 3dMark03 is fucking spectacular. I mean, it ain't top 20 material on the records, but damn, 11000 on 3dMark03 indicates some seriously good fucking hardware, and it will most definitely run HL2 at a really good resolution, like 1280*1024 with all details running high, at a solid 60 fps.

He's a member there, has been for years. He got me addicted to gaming, that sucks because I can't yell at him for being on the computer because he knows it's just so I can get on. :)

My PC gets 1,100! Ha ha. That benchmark is all about the videocard! I wish I had a videocard good enough for 11k on 2k3.

Yeah, 11k definitely speaks volumes about that system. Gotta be a super-newer P4 or AMD 64, ATI 9800 Pro XT or maybe even an X800, some good fucking RAM, maybe a Raptor. Sheeut.

Processor: Your processor is fine.
Graphics : You should be able to play in 1024x768 depending on your card, consider upgrading if you have an older chipset such as GeForce 3 Ti
System Memory: You have enough RAM
Operating System: You will be able to play on Win XP.
Architecture: No Problems

Speed_Gibson 07-13-2004 07:21 AM

.....
Graphics : You should be able to play in a comfortable resolution such as 800x600, maybie more depending on chipset.
.....
who they are kidding? My video card can barely handle Half Life without flaking out changing levels, and it is the best and latest of the five or six in my collection. Bought this in back in 1st quarter 2001 or thereabouts if memory serves and not planning on upgrading anytime soon.

Official Specs from Gabe:

Valve boss Gabe Newell has revealed the hardware requirements for Half-Life 2, ahead of the game's expected late summer release.

Taking time out to post on HL2Fallout's forums last week, Newell said that the minimum spec would be a 1.2GHz powered PC with 256MB RAM, Win 98/ME/2000/XP and a DirectX 7 compatible graphics card.

But for those who want to see the game running in all its glory, be prepared to spec up to around a 2.4 GHz machine, with 512MB RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a DirectX 9 capable graphics card.

This will come as a relief to many PC gamers used to games requiring specs well out of reach, although in this case the graphics card will be the key component to consider when getting your machine back in shape. Our machine hasn't seen a great deal of gaming action so far this year, but we're happy to report it's fighting fit and ready for a slew of hi spec FPSs to finally make use of its expensive innards.

Reflecting for a moment on the minimum specs, it makes you wonder what kind of compromises the Xbox version of Half-Life 2 will have to endure, given that the big black box houses a quarter of the RAM (shared between the system and the graphics at that), and a 50 per cent less powerful processor....

Well, just like I've been saying, you're not gonna need the super-duper-hot-shit system to run this game. A current system (one for around 500-800 bucks) will run it damn good, and a PC centered around an X800/6800 WILL run it at 16*12 with absolutely every graphical enhancement turned ALL THE WAY UP. I discussed this in a thread in Tilted Computers, which is here.

Pretty much the same thing as most people. I was planning on upgrading Vid card and processor in the next month anyway. to an AMD 3200/3400 and ATI X800. even though current sys will have no prob just vid card bottle neck. Running Geforce Ti200 heh.

My husband built it...

It's an AMD 64 3400+ with 1GB pc3500 ddr, a 74gig 10krpm raptor drive and a x800pro card.... All I know is it plays Unreal 2k4 awesome...

Did I mention it's really pretty, it has red and blue lights and a lot of fans.

Here is a pic

I love the Atari sticker on the top side of the window! :D

my PC definatly sucks. it cant even run half life 1 without a problem.

todd 07-20-2004 10:22 PM

Only thing I lack in is graphics card. It says I should be fine at 800x600 resolution though.

I definitly do not see me making any computer modifications for quite some time.

GakFace 07-21-2004 01:55 AM

I'm good to go. No worries here.
