Tiger Woods 2004 question
 

So I rented 2003 after hearing tons about this game. I love it already!

I just went out and bought 2004 and have a few questions.

Is there a way to visit the pro shop without starting a game, quitting, then going to the shop when it asks you before you return to the main menu? (this is how I've been getting there ;) )

Also, what's the best way to start this game out? My plans are to have a character to use with my friends while playing against eachother, as well as have a character (can be the same guy) to use while playing in the tours. Should I just start with a blank character and work up? I tried this but his stats are horrid and I'm having trouble. Maybe I should beat a round with Tiger, save the profile as myself, and make the guy look like me and use the won $$$ to buy stats...?

Just to clarify.. Are you playing Tiger Woods 2003 or 2004?

If playing 2004, I recommend playing events (scenario especially) with "pre-made' golfers. It will be easier and the events do-able. Then the money you win is saved to your profile, which you can then use on your created golfer.

I would play the other game modes a lot with pre-made golfers to build up you created player a little, and then enter the PGA Tour/career mode.

Ahh, I didn't know that you can save that money to your profile. Thanks ;)

edit: I just ended a game using the regular Tiger in a "strokes" match. When I finished, it asked me if I wanted to "create/save user profile". When I hit yes, it went to the keyboard screen to create a new profile. How can I transfer the stats and cash to my previously made guy?

I believe created players are attached to profiles.

So before you play, load your profile.. And then when you win money it will be attached to that profile.

Again, this is assuming you are playing 2004. In your post you mentioned 2003, so I am not sure which version you are playing..

In 2004 though, you can just play with your profile, earn money, and then create your golfer using that profile and the money will be there.

Hmm yeah I think I'm confused. As far as 'profile' goes, I created a profile named "Tim" that I play world and traditional games with. When I go to play a game to make money (as we've said), I don't select my profile. I select, say, Tiger Woods. I don't think money from this will go to my "Tim" account though... And I don't see how I could set it up before hand that it would go to it.

In 2004, you should be able to use your profile, but also any golfer you want..

Like it will ask you what profile you want to use, and then you can select a golfer other than your created one..

At least that is how it worked if I remember correctly.. I know I used Charles Howell III to do most of the scenarios and got a decent amount of money to use on my created player (Vanilla Ice).
