I know it's been said before, but...
Holy fuck, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was a fucking fantastic game. I finally got time to play through it these past few weeks (I had to work sometimes, too, or that would have read "past few days"), and I practically cried at the end because it was so good.
I made an effort to play through entirely as a light jedi the first time around, and now I'm very much looking forward to replaying it as a dark jedi. The plot and gameplay were nearly seamlessly integrated, and overall I thought the game was just incredibly well realized. I can say in all honesty that it's one of the best role playing games I've ever played. It had so many good things going for it, and so very few bad (in fact, in my afterglow of beating it I can't really think of the bad, though I know there were a few...). For any of you that haven't yet played it, I highly recommend doing so. And now I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait for the second one. Shit. Alright, I'm done. Whew. |

I agree 100%.
Knights of the Old Republic is the best Star Wars game ever made, and possible the best RPG ever made. It's no surprise that it got Game of the Year 2003 from a hundred different publications. That game is a masterpiece. -Lasereth

KOTOR: Best dialog ever in a game. Ever.
The funniest thing I've ever seen in a game just being in a party with HK-47 and Jolee. "No! Don't beat me again master!" "I think he said hello. May I blast him now?" Dear god, I cannot wait for KOTOR 2. If they do not include HK-47 there will be a massive upcry from the fanbase.

Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

Heh, playing through as a dark jedi was awesome, mostly because of the hilariously evil things you can do. I won't spoil anything but make sure to get force persuade ;D

sounds interesting. The last game I played that even approaches that (or even the just the last game I played at all) on my PC was half life. Somehow I never have played Quake in any form either.
Rise of the Triad is still one of my favourites for FPS type/3-d graphic games.

it's quite easy for respectable gaming companies to produce raw shit every once in a while. so yeah, you could definitely expect less. especially taking the Star Wars title into consideration. those games don't exactly have a huge reputation of being monster hits in the videogame market

Ahhh yes, Kotor. The wonderful and pleasure filled gaming experience that it was. Very few games get me to fully play through it TWICE in a ROW as that game did. It actually gave me a reason, good and evil, Ying and yang, light and dark.
The dark prevailed in my case.
