Sweet! I thought one of those screens looked a lot like Mario 64. 64x4 seems interesting, now if Craig Harris would just take his head out of his ass I would read IGN more often...

when i first heard about the DS is was not impressed at all. i thought it would be a GBA SP with two screens....boy was i wrong. this thing has the power between an N64 and the GC. pretty amazing for a handheld running on batteries. who would have thought.
nintendo has done good this time. the DS has the potential to dominate the PSP. nintendo has really thought good and hard about this concept....it has so many possibilities. imagine playing a game like Medal of Honor online with people across the US, having a screen that shows where everybody is at all times, or being able to cycle through weapons with just tap on the screen. amazing. the Press Conference demostrated a first person Metroid. looked amazing. apparently their is no need to aim using the D-pad and buttons, all it takes is tapping on the screen exactly where you want to fire. i will definately be picking one of these things up when they come out. |

I was hoping the DS would be good, and from the looks of it Nintendo has delivered. So far, the double screen use doesn't seem particularly innovative, simply more of a convenience... however, the mere power of it and software that is going to be available should make it a pretty formidable handheld.
And I'm sure that the two screen thing will pan out well (think playing GC games with an SP controller... sounded weird at first, didn't it?). |

I'm sure all of the readers of the thread know about the PSP. They're just expressing their interest and attention on the DS. I think both handhelds will do well. But for starters, $100 less on a handheld is very attractive. I think I'll "Check out the DS" instead
