Apparently Xbox Connect makes it possible to play games without having to pay for Live.. I guess it's free and legal too. Someone just told me about it so I don't know a whole lot about it..

Anyone use it?

The first I've heard of it. It looks cool, but I wonder how long it will last.

Yeah, I've used it before. It actually made me want to buy Live! because it sucked so much.

It just makes your xbox think its hooked up to a LAN. Although it is possible to play Halo 1 through xbconnect, it is not made for to travel through cyberspace as it needs a very fast connection (ie. LAN), so it makes it lag like shit. All the other games were fine with LAG, but I only found about 4 people (if that) per game to play with. You also have to go through your computer to get it to work, as in finding a game on your PC, then when you are allowed in a room, go to your xbox, detect a LAN game, and then you can get in, maybe... if its in a good mood.

I don't know, I've used that and XLinkKai. Both were junk in my opinion and now I am quite happy with Live!.

If XBC can connect you to live playing, then can you play with anybody playing on Xbox live. It just doesnt seem worth it. Especially since Xbox live only costs $5 each month so its not like its only for rich people.

No, you cannot play with people that use xbox live. It is set up completely different, so the only other people you can play with are people that also using XBC.

Yeah, I have no problem paying the $50 for a year's subscription to Live. I just wanted to throw this out there for people to see.

Live is no good for someone who doesn't have a credit card..

You can use a check/debit card for XBL too.

I've had slight success with XBC, but my main gripe is the fact that people only play Halo 2. That's it. Bah.
