Taken from Gamesradar.com:
So. Now we know. San Andreas is NOT Los Angeles, it's a whole state. Los Santos, on the other hand is, to all intents and purposes, LA. The game's two other cities, San Fierro and Las Venturra are based on San Francisco and Las Vegas respectively. There'll be countryside between the three main areas, each of which is roughly the same size as the whole of Vice City. Big, in other words. Overall, the game will be an incredible four to six times the size of its predecessor. Main character Carl Johnson is going to have his work cut out. Returning to his old haunts after five years in the Liberty City slammer, and blamed by his older brother Sweet for younger bro' Brian's accidental death, he'll be making his way through an early 90's streetscape besieged by rival gangs. The most significant gameplay changes are a new stamina meter, meaning you need to eat, and massively improved building interiors. You'll be able to commit burglary now, or run a casino in Las Venturra. If you're feeling less ambitious you can just gamble away your ill-gotten gains on the tables in LV. Brilliantly, improved AI means you can recruit a gang, the Orange Grove Families, and drag members along on missions. Up to four people can complete a drive-by mission, for instance. |

Man, if this game is as huge as they say it's gonna buy, I'm sold. It's headed to PC, right? I think mine's in need of an upgrade, anyway =)

the problem I have is the waiting time to get to PC!
RELEASE THEM WHEITHIN MONTHS OF EACH OTHER! I wantto play this game so badly. several cities to travel through? well, that pretty much sold me right there. Vice City was a huge place to explore the first time you went through...imagine three citites of that size! and their surrounding areas too I assume. that means, more missions, more killings, more fun |

There is a 10 page preview in a mag, but I can't remember which one it is. There are a few more pics as well in it.

You will also be able to have home invasions and they are supposed to be pretty difficult to pull off. All in all that preview makes me wish I could fast forward to October. I have a PS2, but I might end up waiting till it comes out on PC. |

I am fully psyched after reading this thread...
The sound track is going to be hilarious in my opinion. Public Enemy, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Young MC... In Vice City I used to love listening to Shrub and the psycho commie haters talk about Russians, not it'll be all about how the US kicked their arse and how Saddam's going downnnnnn before 94. PS, the US didn't actually kick Russia's ass in my opinion... |

Sorry if I repeat something, I skimmed thru a few... now for the blabla:
I'm very excited for what is to come if it even takes half the step Vice did from the original. I do think they may be just pumping out a title to complete their game contract. I want the police to police pedestrians more, too. Not just chase one once in a while. Only time ive seen police stick up for Tommy was if you were able to get someone to hijack your car back in front of one... and then it was only the ped cops not the ones in cars. Your home gang should always jump in fights to defend you, too, especially with police. Police should be killed on sight when you have a warning level. Gangs should be factioned, too. The more you kill them, they more they hate you and the more you kill their rival gang the less they hate you. Highest ranking factioned gangs should jump into fights to help you and the lowest factioned gangs should attempt drive-by's on you at random times. More options for drive-by weapons. Flamethrower drive by style. let me wipe the drool off my chin. |

sort of like in gta2... what i'd really like to see, is remove the linear element. yes, there was alot of freedom in 3, but you had to do missions in a certain order etc... i would like to see your "goal" to become head gangleader, whether thats wiping every other gang out, taking over the police, or just allying yourself and combining all the gangs. "I don't get what all the fuss is about buying property.. you can't do anything with it. It's just another save point. It's not like it gives your power more influence or recognition." THAT would be good, a power and influence meter. i'd like to see you matching your gang against another. id like to see you not just being a gang runaround, but the leader. so, you would be in charge of extortion and planning who to assasinate. id also like to see better 3rd person play. better aiming, something like a "z targetting" (in zelda64) or some lock on/aim thing, so you could actually hae gunfights, instead of standing there shooting, hoping the enemy's armour will run out before yours. Who wants to play a game that's like real life? I guess I should word it better: perfect crash physics for a videogame. If real-life physics were in a game then most cars you drive would blow up after being put to the floor for hours straight. I'm simply saying that the car physics engine is as good as it's going to get in videogames; in other words, nearly perfect in terms of gameplay.

I'd love to be able to coordinate hits and robberies and shit - like in True Romance, when rasta-ed out Gary Oldman uses the shotty to kill his dealers and take that huge stash of coke - it would be so tight to be able to time shit perfectly, and set up your back-up man or whatever to pull his gun at the opportune moment, then the two of you kill your opponents and take all the drugs and money for yourself.
It would also be great to work towards a goal like running the whole entire city - planning hits on the leaders of the gangs and their underbosses, then forcing new leadership on the gangs and making their sets ally with your own.

Im a fan of the GTA series, been playing since the 1st one, but they should do something about the environment. I mean maybe i'll have to wait till GTA4, but id like to see destructable buildings, hikack a dodo with a box cutter and crash it into trump towers. Of course you'd die, but at least it would look cool.
No seriously, didnt mean to make light of 9/11 but i found it lame that if i was flying a chopper or a seaplane and i was going full bore haulin balls, and hit a building, id just bounce off, "WHOOPS!" no big deal. I thought that was too lame. I still think the original gta3 was better than VC because the radio stations were better, I mean they had trance and drum n bass, how can you beat that? I always had to use the custom station in gtaVC cuz of that. oh well. i wouldnt mind more realistic looking people in gta, looking like a cartoon is fun and all, but cmon. This is supposed to be a real life anarchy simulation |

public transit!
i don't really know what purpose it would serve, (there were trains and such...but...) it would be cool to flag a taxi down (saves you chasing after them) and hop in, and he could take you somewhere. (Maybe a point and click on the map) Ditto for buses. Maybe an "influence map" which shows a map of the city (ala vice city) but with your influence in a coloured region over it. What stuff you own etc. etc. Non linear attacks, i.e. If your influence starts to encroach upon say The Blue Fist territory, then maybe a few attacks from Blue Fist Members on your businesses/fellow gang members/Increasing violence in that area. |

- Expand on the "clothes buying" idea of VC. If you buy a house, you should be able to pick its color and buy some stuff for the inside to "customize" it.
- Customizable cars. Maybe at a certain point in the game you can own an autobody shop or something and can make modifications to your car (nitrous oxide boosts, bullet/flame proof armor, color/detail choices, etc.) - More stuff like the arena in VC. Maybe this can tie into the auto customizing idea. - A female character who isn't a gang bitch or a porn star. - I think that a fun GTA scenario would be "GTA: Windy City". Set it in Chicago in the 30's and get all Al Capone/Untouchables for the story line. That would mean very different options for cars/weapons/missions.

I'd like to see a little more realism with the cops. I mean, if you lose the cops in real life and they don't have a helicopter out, then you hide, every cop in the city will not immediately run over and sit just outside your hiding place. I'd also like to see a better driving interface - let's switch over to analog throttle/brake inputs shall we? this all or nothing approach makes driving less realistic. |

I never played the PC version but in the PS2 version your rate of acceleration is somewhat dependant on how hard you press the accelerate button. You don't get a full range of acceleration. It's more like low, med, high.
I'm looking forward to the cops on motorcycles. I always wanted to do vigilante missions in a bike. |

it'd be pretty badass to have multiplayer. thats an obvious idea, but even 2 player co op/head to head would be cool.
Straight up deathmatch: Ala playing GTA1 in the middle of class back in grade 9 with a bunch of other people... Mission head to head: Who can complete the most number of pizza/fire/police/ambulance/tax missions in a certain amount of time, or who can do it fastest. Violence is encouraged. Game head to head: Who can make the biggest empire/get the story missions done fastetst/first. Co op: One person driving, one person aiming. Some missions would even have a co-op option. Or both players coule play for the same "gang" (maybe increase difficulty level) Races: Stuff like tourismo missions, just plain racing head to head. Good guy/bad guy: might be hard on split screen, but one person could go about playing normally (either story or not), and the other person could play as the police/ambulence/firefighter, this means the 2nd player would pick up wounded, fight fires, but they would generally be victims/fires caused by the 1st player. As for playing as a cop, you might not be able to attack/arrest the other player until he has a certain amount of stars or something... |

I just can't wait to see a 4 person drive by in SA. If you do a DB with your homies in the car, the other 3 open fire with you. That is going to be so freakin fun for the random violence factor. Wonder if they will shot out both sides at once in a crowded area, or just open fire at what you are shoting at...

In my new issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly they said you need to eat and drink to keep the new stamina bar filled up.
If you pig-out too much you'll develop a spare tire around your middle, which you will then have to do a workout to get it off. They also said something about the bike being good for exercize.
