C&C Generals: Zero Hour

Hello.

We have a LAN party about once a week or so here, with normally 4-10 people. The most popular game is C&C Generals ZH.
The question I pose here is has anyone else ever played this game on a LAN and found it to go extremely slow?
I play it on my computer and it's fine, I try to play it on a 100MB/FD network and it turns to total crap. Everyone who play's computers are well past the "recomended system spects" yet it still seems to cry it's self to sleep when played on-LAN. And about half of the games will play for 10=15 mins then "Detect a Mismatch" and kill the game. WTF?!? I can understand a game being hardware intensive, but this has got to be the most addictive, yet buggy game ever.
Anyone?

I have a T1 network at my school and a top of the line computer. It still runs slow on our network.
