WoW Beta

Did any of you get in?

Few of my friends did through beta sites and such, but I wasn't lucky enough for first phase =(.

I'm in. But that's entirely due to my job.

I have no idea, I guess not being sent an email is tantamount to not getting in

Already a thread on it like 8 lines down. I haven't got any e-mail, so my hopes are gone. Oh well!

What is your position Mr. Quackers? Do you happen to be a blizzard employee?

I didn't get the email either. What a bummer.

Maybe I'll get a golden ticket when they stress the servers a bit more.

I didn't get in, but Beta's for these games are pretty boring normally. A lot of bugs, plus your time goes to waste in a short period of time. I'll just wait for the Gold.

That was my initial thoughts, but remember that we're talking about Blizzard here -- they've worked on games for 5+ years before. It could be a VERY long time before WoW goes gold, and I've been wanting play an MMORPG for a while now.

Nah. I couldn't code my way out of a paper sack. I work for a major media organization and, among other things, cover the gaming industry on a full-time basis.

The release date is set for June 14th last time I checked, and has been for a while. I bet we'll see it somewhere around there.

The date that amazon.com and other such stores parade around as the release date is far from accurate. The beta will most likely last six months or so, so look for a Christmas 2004 release, or early 2005.

Didnt get in, and glad I didnt I am too busy playing lineage 2 (http://www.lineage2.com) and I would hate to slow down with playing that MMORPG :P Lineage 2 is really awesome so far, and I can only imagine it getting better as I get higher leveled.

Sweet. I just got my email today for the Lineage II beta, on their "Prelude" program. I was a little disappointed when I found no email for WoW but this makes me almost as happy
