Just released at 6PM PST. emails are sent. But you might not get in for up to two days. people are already going though.

Where did you read that we might not get in for 2 days? I was under the impression that the e-mails were sent, and that if you didn't get one, you just have to wait until the next phase. Does the two-day thing mean that there is a lag in the sending of the phase 1 e-mails?

I been checking all night. Then i go and watch 21 Grams and i come back to find out Beta has started.

Well i didnt get a email either. Ah well. Makes it more enjoyable when it releases.

guess I better check my email, although I kinda doubt I got in I didn't even get into the WC3 beta with blizzard and everyone and their mom got accepted for that...

I don't know of anyone who's gotten in, out of about 40 people that have applied.

Some people on the WoW forums that submitted multiple applications have already gotten 3 keys. That's bullshit. I hate people that do that. This guy I know submitted over 10 applications...I imagine he'll get at least one. I wish more people were chosen for the testing during phase 1!

Its too bad Blizzard isn't reading the forums and they don't just ban people who even just 'claim' to have multiple keys from the beta by IP address...

Yeah, banning by IP wouldn't work. The people I've heard of have registered multiple applications on different computers to increase their chances. The guy I was talking about used 10 different PCs (he works at an ISP). Oh well!

I was stupid enough to be honest about it and I didn't get in. I guess being honest doesn't work? Still this will give me lots of time to work on my time machine so I can warp ahead to the release of the gold version.

i honeslty didnt sign up for beta.. i have been playing Starwars galaxies sence July. Game was hella buggy so it was like playing beta :p


but my old SWG Guild is already gearing up for WoW.

The beta was done 100% random. They filtered out as many of the duplicates as they could, and then simply ran the applications through a "random generator" or something. Neither you or your computer, age, or location mattered. It was all completely random. One of my friends that signed up for 10 accounts didn't get a single one. :)

It also appears to have been an incredibly small sample of people. I haven't even seen 1,000 on the world server at one time yet. I think that WoW is far less finished than we thought -- they haven't tested any lvl 30-60 content yet, several classes haven't been enabled, and pvp still has serious issues.

My beta test actually starts at Phase II, so I won't be playing for a couple of weeks. But I'll let you guys know how it is once I get my hands on it :)

Once these beta phases start up, how long does it usually take for a game to be released to everyone? I played Everquest for a long time and am really looking forward to getting back into a mmorpg.
